The Role:

KPMG Law is seeking an experienced mid level corporate lawyer to join its growing Northern team, based in Manchester.

The successful candidate will have broad corporate experience across M&A, equity investments, and corporate reorganisations.

The role will involve:

• providing corporate legal advice on a broad range of client solutions spanning establishing corporate structuring and reorganisations, M&A, equity investments, joint ventures and equity incentive arrangements, in each case, on a domestic and cross border basis
• building relationships with other KPMG teams and KPMG clients to develop and provide multi-disciplinary solutions
• leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects in the UK and internationally

Experience Required

It is expected that the successful applicant will be an English-qualified solicitor with solid experience, gained in the UK at a reputable firm (but applicants with other suitable experience will also be considered).

• Strong academic, technical, and personal skills are essential.
• Must be able to demonstrate his/her/their experience on transactions, and ability to supervise and develop more junior members of the team. Strong project management skills are a must.
• Be able to demonstrate good experience of coordinating the provision of advice and the production of complex and interrelated legal agreements and documentation by advisers in multiple jurisdictions. While consulting appropriately on difficult issues, he/she/they must be able to deliver robust and appropriate legal advice and exercise sound judgement.
• Significant experience of working with demanding clients across a wide spectrum of scale and sectors and be expert at service delivery.
• He/she/they must be able to demonstrate sound client relationship and business development skills, and a desire to develop these skills further.

The successful applicant will be expected to take responsibility for servicing and continuing to build the team. He/she/they will help promote the team’s work through participating in team and firm events and giving internal and external presentations.

KPMG’s FS Corporate Tax team has an immediate need for an Assistant Manager to support delivery of a range of engagements across corporate tax advisory, tax advisory, and tax audit assist. The KPMG FS Corporate Tax Team has a strong market reputation working with leading Global and UK bank and insurers on a range of tax services.   

 

The team will invest in the right candidate to enable quick upskilling on industry tax technical and commercial matters.  There is a strong pipeline of project and advisory work. 

 

What will you be doing?

 

Delivery of a range of engagements across tax advisory including M&A, tax advice including Pillar 2, tax audit, and compliance 

 

What will you need to do it?

  • Corporate tax background, ideally some experience in tax audit
