We are a diverse team of over 300 practitioners globally, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Deal Advisory business.

KPMG has one of the leading Indirect Tax practices in the UK. We work as a national practice providing advice and support in all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a broad range of business sectors including large multi-nationals, household name retailers, public sector organisations and Financial Services.  The Indirect Tax practice is a fast-growing and dynamic business, currently with approximately 200 professional staff located across the UK.  We work to support our portfolio of clients with a variety of Indirect tax issues. 

In order to support our plans for our North of England Indirect Tax team, we are looking to recruit a motivated individual with a commercial edge who is seeking a real challenge, at Director level across our Indirect Tax business, to build on our successes to date and help us achieve our growth targets.

As Manager in Governance, Risk and Compliance Services, you will lead grants assurance and internal audit work that helps public-sector organisations strengthen governance, manage risk and maintain effective controls. You will manage a varied portfolio, including local authority grant certification, fully outsourced internal audit engagements and relationships with senior client stakeholders. By guiding teams, applying professional judgement and delivering clear, high-quality assurance, you will contribute directly to successful client outcomes and the growth of the practice. Manager - Audit & Accounting Related Tax Services

The Role

• Acting as the day-to-day contact on audit and tax reporting engagements, liaising with audit teams, the client and AARTS team nationally.  Working with the AARTS leadership team to grow the business.
• Reviewing, testing and documenting technical tax disclosures prepared by clients and their independent advisers
• Delegating delivery of work to junior colleagues whilst maintaining control of quality and timetables.
• Developing and maintaining client relationships across a portfolio of clients;
• Developing and maintaining internal relationships with the audit teams, and other departments;
• Mentoring and developing of junior members of staff;
• Keep up to date and share technical insights with rest of AARTS team.

HR M&A was set up as part of the Integration & Separation (I&S) team in Deal Advisory, which has been growing year on year and seen by our clients as a market leader. We have worked on some of the largest and most high-profile client engagements in the deals space, including multi-billion spins, integration of global mega mergers, disposals of non-core assets for large multinationals. We have launched a market differentiating digital engagement platform for M&A as well as a campaign focused on ‘the Human Side of Deals’, and we continue to drive digital innovation.
