KPMG’s Controls Transformation and Controls Regulation team within Banking, is an area of the firm which continues to show tremendous growth, as evidenced by recent significant wins. Part of our Enterprise Risk service offering, our proposition helps clients define, implement and optimise control frameworks. 

The team also supports clients respond to regulations around controls such as US SOX and UK Corporate Governance reform, has extensive process mapping experience and can design and improve controls as part of process re-engineering. We also work closely with other consulting teams through our Connected Consulting business and our colleagues in Technology Risk, Financial Transformation, Internal Audit and Cyber Risk to help ensure our clients receive the best possible advice and assurance. 

What will you be doing?

• Drive and lead the day-to-day execution of Advisory Engagements (Sarbanes-Oxley assistance, Risk Assessments, Maturity Assessments, Internal Controls Diagnostics Reviews) for clients, including activities such as Design and development of risk assessments, development of SOx/ICFR frameworks, testing plans, working papers, production of reports summarizing results, and other deliverables based on the specific engagement requirements
• Serve as a coach and mentor and provide opportunities for on-the-job training for staff, as well as other team members
• Work closely to develop and train our offshore team in SOx regulations and working practices
• Identify and clearly communicate issues and share best practices to client personnel and senior management
• Work with partners and directors to assist in practice management including resource alloca

We provide in-depth advice on strategic, financial, regulatory and commercial issues driving investments in infrastructure across Transport, Power & Utilities, and Social Infrastructure in the UK and globally. Our work includes market and policy design, economic and regulatory analysis, deal structuring and execution, as well as strategic and transaction advice to enable private and public capital to fund infrastructure. We work closely with other functions within KPMG to advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, valuations, tax, accounting, and due diligence.
 

We are looking for a Global Mobility Services Tax Senior Manager to join us in Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh), the North (Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle), the Midlands (Birmingham) or the South (Reading and Bristol). The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a confident, outward-facing skillset, and who is willing to invest time and energy in the marketplace.

Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG), a part of KPMG Advisory in the UK, consists of about 400 professionals and is widely recognised as a leading independent business, financial and regulatory adviser in the infrastructure space. The group has won many awards, including Financial Advisor of the Year (Infrastructure Journal) for several years. You will be working on a range of projects in the water and energy network sectors. Your work will focus on cost assessment.

Our clients seek expert advice relating to cost and performance benchmarking. There is no ‘typical project’. You will need to apply a structured strategic approach to problem solving, drawing on established economic principles, while having the capacity to think creatively.

Our approach to benchmarking can involve econometric models comparing costs across companies. We also support clients through cost benefit analysis and other benchmarking approaches, such as unit cost models.

The projects that you will advise on will be high profile and varied. For example, in recent years we have advised nearly every water and energy network company on their price control reviews, been the lead advisor on several CMA appeals, and advised on major transactions within the sectors. We have the skills and capabilities to be involved in every major development within the sector.

The work will include a combination of report drafting, data collection/verification, economic analysis, econometric analysis, and engaging with clients.

You will also take a key role in developing the skills of more junior staff.
