Powered Enterprise is KPMG’s world-class accelerated Enterprise Business Transformation approach for cloud-based solutions driven by a pre-defined back-office function based on leading practices and KPMG’s six-layer Target Operating Model. The target operating model comprises of service delivery model, people, process, technology, data & insight and governance & controls. This solution combines the breadth and scale of KPMG’s leading practice, capabilities and insight into what makes a world class corporate services function with the latest in ERP technology provided by the leading SaaS ERP vendors such as Oracle.

The Powered Apps teams are communities of technology focussed professionals who work together to deliver SaaS ERP and EPM based transformation programmes based on KPMG Powered Enterprise. The teams use their functional knowledge and experience (e.g. Planning, Finance, Procurement), coupled with their expertise in the cloud applications (e.g. Oracle, Workday, Coupa) to lead and deliver client programmes, to support pre-sales activities and to develop improvement and extensions to the Powered Enterprise model. KPMG are growing their Powered Apps team to meet an ever-increasing demand for our market leading services and are seeking IT management consultants with relevant expertise and experience.

Tax and Legal Technology Team

We are a team of 100+ technologists providing technology enablement services and solutions across the Tax and Legal business. This business has 4,000 tax & legal professionals covering multiple disciplines. We serve many thousands of clients and private individuals by providing a modern, market-leading suite of technology solutions that provide an efficient digital experience from routine to complex tax advice depending on client’s situation.

The team is made up of Product Owners, Business Analysts, multi-disciplinary Engineering teams (approximate 150 Software, QA and Cloud Operations engineers) and IT Service delivery professionals working on a large portfolio of systems used to improve productivity and solve key business problems across Tax & Legal. We also build cutting edge web portals for clients to interact with KPMG, maximising collaboration and ensuring seamless delivery of information to our clients.

The Role:

You will be working in a small team of Software Engineers and Quality Assurance Engineers across a variety of projects for both our clients and our internal professionals. You will be responsible both for the development and delivery of software solutions. Your team will work alongside a Product Owner who will help prioritise deliverables allowing you to focus on creating world-class solutions.

The role can be based anywhere in the UK, though preference will be given to candidates in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and London. We generally spend two days per week in the office. Remote or part-time workers are welcome to apply.

Whilst there is no expectation of existing knowledge of tax, we would expect you to develop a degree of domain knowledge over time.

Capital projects consistently underperform in terms of budget, schedule, and value.  Stakeholders often lack confidence over the performance of their projects and programmes, and the transition to business-as-usual operation often fails to take advantage of the data and insight generated during the project implementation phase.  Data can enable and drive improvement as it has in many facets of our lives, with automation, digitalisation and AI now becoming the norm. 

It has quickly become a cheap commodity, easily created, and accessed.  However, capturing good quality, meaningful data to drive a completive edge, enable intelligence-led decision-making, helping to track and improve performance is today’s challenge for many organisations.  How do stakeholders obtain insights when served with an overwhelming volume of disorganised, poorly considered, badly constructed data?

Our Major Projects Advisory (MPA) team specialises in providing clarity to Boards, Executives and SRO’s and senior leaders across major public and private sector organisations, on the delivery of their complex projects and programmes. We work on some of the UK’s most strategically important programmes, and across all sectors including Utilities, Power, Energy, Transport, Natural Resources, Oil & Gas, Defence, Health and Education.

The Team

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Asset Management Advisory (AMA) team, part of the KPMG Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG). Our team advises infrastructure owners in both the public and private sector, including government with their most complex challenges. IAG is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading independent financial and business advisers in infrastructure consisting of over 380 professionals.

Our team leads exciting projects across both public and private sectors principally focused on major capital and infrastructure portfolios in Transport, Energy, Water, Defence, Oil and Gas and Health. This is a fast-growing area offering many opportunities building upon a global capability in Asset Management where we provide:

• Asset Strategy and Transformation, including operating model design and transformation of asset management functions.
• Asset Health and Performance including investment planning, efficiency improvements in capital and operating expenditure, as well as asset resilience, asset data, investment business cases and benchmarking.
• Digital asset management including asset performance and financial modelling and smart technology.
• Investor assurance of asset performance and transaction due diligence support.
