The Reward Consulting  practice at KPMG is a dedicated team that provides reward solutions to both UK and non-UK headquartered non-FS clients. The Practice sits within the wider KPMG UK Reward practice, which has grown rapidly in recent years. We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our rapidly expanding Corporate Treasury Services team. Our team is focused on serving the world's leading Corporate Treasuries with their most complex business challenges. The team offer deep treasury expertise in financial products and markets, risk management, systems, governance, valuation and accounting. We work closely with other high impact functions within KPMG such as Audit, Risk Consulting and Management Consulting to provide a wide range of treasury advisory services.

KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for an Manager role, with a sector focus on the Consumer, Retail & Leisure industry and with particular experience in Deal Strategy, one of our core propositions. Additional experience across our other propositions - Growth Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy (including Economic Profitability Analysis) and Enterprise-wide Transformation - will also be valuable.

Controls Transformation: Operational and Financial Reporting Risk Types – Manager

The team also supports clients respond to regulations around controls such as US SOX and UK Corporate Governance reform, has extensive process mapping experience and can design and improve controls as part of process re-engineering. What will you be doing?

• Drive and lead the day-to-day execution of Advisory Engagements (Sarbanes-Oxley assistance, Risk Assessments, Maturity Assessments, Internal Controls Diagnostics Reviews) for clients, including activities such as Design and development of risk assessments, development of SOx/ICFR frameworks, testing plans, working papers, production of reports summarizing results, and other deliverables based on the specific engagement requirements
• Serve as a coach and mentor and provide opportunities for on-the-job training for staff, as well as other team members
• Work closely to develop and train our offshore team in SOx regulations and working practices
• Identify and clearly communicate issues and share best practices to client personnel and senior management
• Work with partners and directors to assist in practice management including resource alloca

Working in our successful CTAC business will give you the opportunity to develop relationships with clients as you manage the tax compliance process together with getting involved on various advisory projects such as, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact of global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

What will you be doing?

This exciting role is within our London region Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Canary Wharf  office.  We work as a region which comprises 5 other offices. 

The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships, develop junior staff, provide excellent client service and identify business development opportunities.

• Be market facing with allocated clients and target organisations.
• Liaising with the client service team and with colleagues in other tax disciplines as well as the audit and accounting discipline to provide a co-ordinated service to the client.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and identifying leads for new work 
• Ensuring that clients are kept up to date on developments within the corporate tax world that may affect their businesses.
• Hold conversations with stakeholders in the markets and be capable of introducing relevant specialists from across the firm.
• Lead by example with client relationships, technical quality and service delivery 
• Actively promote team and personal profile to internal networks in order to promote collaboration and increase internal leads.
• Being involved in business development and proposal activity
• Managing our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials
• Being a role model for KPMG’s values
• Managing teams, coaching, and developing staff procedures.

What will you need to do it?

• Qualified (ACA/ACCA or CTA or equivalent).
• Strong educational background (preferably 2:1 or higher University degree)
• Sound knowledge of UK corporate taxation.
• Sound knowledge of accountancy principles, in particular accounting for tax (including deferred taxation and accounts disclosures).
• Strong time and task management skills.  Able to remain calm when under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
• Monitors and upholds high quality of service and products to clients (internal and external). 
• A practical approach to problems with client focus and commercial awareness.
