Manager - Deal Execution - Integration & Separation

KPMG’s Deal Execution practice is looking for exceptional candidates for a Manager role.

The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour.  We are a diverse team of over 150 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Deal Advisory business, and are focused on continually enhancing value for clients across the deal and economic cycle. Our teams comprise of specialists capable of helping clients right through from conceptual thinking of buying a business to turning their business around in times of difficulty.

The Deal Execution Advisory Team

KPMG's Deal Execution Advisory Team is a growing and dynamic team. We work with both vendors and acquirers on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, exits and joint ventures, both pre and post-deal.

The team offers four key proposition areas:

Separation: Supporting vendors to plan and deliver a credible, discrete standalone entity to the Buyer with value preserved and business continuity in place from Day 1, including supporting the definition and implementation of transitional service agreements.

Integration: Pre and post deal integration design, planning and implementation to integrate the target business into the Buyer’s organisation whilst mitigating risk and enhancing value.

Synergies: Understanding the potential benefits and costs generated through a proposed transaction, and the associated plans, interdependencies, risks and issues for the delivery of base and stretch case targets.

Joint Ventures: Helping respective partners ensure the key value considerations are identified and prioritised early and delivered through the associated business plan, leveraging each party’s specific contribution and capabilities and managing broader stakeholder relationships.

Roles & Responsibilities              

To be an effective Manager within our Deal Execution applicants will be expected to:

• Build strong, trusted advisor relationships with client counterparts.  Establish role as day to day / key client contact on engagements
• Take day-to-day responsibility for smaller projects and manage significant

Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG), a part of KPMG Advisory in the UK, consists of over 400 professionals and is widely recognised as a leading independent business, financial and regulatory adviser in the infrastructure space. 

As a US Tax Director, you will be required to manage a comprehensive and complex client list, provide line and performance management and make a significant contribution to building the new US tax practice within a Big 4 firm. You will have a direct contribution to the development and achievement of building the practice and will be required to build and maintain relationships with third parties, such as trustees, wealth managers and more.  You will be expected to advise clients in connection with their tax affairs and onboard them to the team to offer bespoke advice.

Our Transaction Services practice comprises approximately 500 people across the UK, organised to align to KPMG’s market orientated structure, and is at the heart of the Firm's agenda to increase its penetration of boardrooms and work with clients across the economic and transaction cycle. Our team works closely with colleagues across Deal Advisory as well as Tax, Audit and other Advisory teams; it is a multi-disciplinary and international environment that sits right at the heart of our One Firm agenda. We are recruiting Managers in our Private Equity, Financial Services, Corporates and Capital Markets teams across the UK to support the growth of our TS business.

Infrastructure is evolving: assets are smarter and better connected. The opportunities for exploiting technologies to drive value from infrastructure and assets have never been greater. Our Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG) advises major public and private sector infrastructure and asset-intensive organisations across all sectors, including Natural Resources, Energy, Power, Utilities, Transport, Oil and Gas, Defence, Health and Education. We are strengthening our InfraTech capability to meet increasing demand from these organisations in support for how to use data, analytics and technology to unlock value from their assets and infrastructure. This is a fast-growing area offering exciting opportunities, building upon our global capabilities in Infrastructure, Asset Management and Data Analytics. We are seeking an ambitious and innovative professional who is passionate about infrastructure and technology to join our Asset Management Advisory (AMA) team, with the skills and desire to combine the two to drive improvements for our clients.

You will be responsible for helping grow and deliver our InfraTech business, working with client organisations and other KPMG teams to develop our offerings and value propositions. This is a client facing role for both business development and delivery, including stakeholder management and workshop facilitation.
