Why Join KPMG as a Tech Risk Manager - Oracle Controls? Within Technology Risk Consulting Corporates, our ERP & Business Systems capability perform a large amount of our work providing assurance, advice and attestation to clients on their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Business Management systems, specifically Oracle and SAP, and implementing GRC or data analytical solutions on top of the ERP. Our projects include delivery of ERP audits, process control, process & control optimisation, security, data analytics and ERP related GRC. This work is delivered through stand-alone assignments, or as part of internal audit engagements.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading multiple Oracle assurance and/or advisory engagements.
  • Responsibility for the overall output from client engagements.
  • Overseeing the scoping, financial management, managing delivery risk, production and review of deliverables.
  • Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships (typically at CIO, CFO and Head of Internal Audit level) across a range of organisations.
  • Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, promoting the ERP & Business Systems capability specifically for Oracle and informing other KPMG services and capability groups of the value it could add to their engagements.

What will you need to do it?

  • Experience in Oracle business analysis and understanding of core financial business processes (procure to pay, record to report, order to cash etc within an Oracle environment).
  • Experience of core ERP and/or business systems - including SAP, Oracle and others.
  • Functional experience of Oracle GRC, Financials.
  • Functional experience of Oracle Release 12 essential and advantage of Oracle Fusion experience.
  • Experience of using Oracle data analysis tools.

The Role

 

Deal Advisory Tax provides market leading services to both Corporate and Financial investors.  Whilst we have teams focused on clients in four key markets Corporates; Private Equity & Credit; Real Estate and Energy & Infrastructure, we are a national and connected team, working and learning with each other.

  • Corporates:  We work alongside some of the most forward-thinking FTSE 100 and 250 businesses, as well as Corporates across the UK, supporting them with strategic acquisitions, carve outs, de-mergers, disposals, and joint ventures both in the UK and cross-border. Our corporates business is a multi-sector business, including Consumer, Life sciences, TMT, Industrials, ENR and Banking & Insurance. 
  • Asset Management:  We work with Private Equity, Infrastructure, Renewable/ Energy transition, and Real Estate Funds, both large and mid-cap, as well as institutional investors such as Sovereign Wealth Funds and Pension Funds.  Our clients have UK, European and Global investment strategies and will often have teams across multiple asset classes which allows our people to experience different types of transactions.

The Deal Advisory Tax team provides advisory services across the whole deal spectrum including buy-side due diligence and structuring, sell-side vendor assist and vendor due diligence, refinancing and listing support. Deal sizes can be anywhere from £10m to +£10bn – we work with a variety of clients and on a variety of deals.

 

We help our clients understand and quantify historical tax issues, structure transactions, model tax considerations and reflect our advice in the legal documents underpinning each transaction, all with a continuous focus on maximising value throughout the investment cycle. Our business is expanding rapidly and we are looking for a high-quality candidate to support our Power & Utilities business, with a particular focus on the water sector.

The Role
 

  • You would be joining the leading provider of strategic economic consultancy services in the water sector.
  • While you will have specific responsibilities for contributing towards the team’s water business, there will also be opportunities to work in other sectors, primarily energy networks.
  • Working closely with sector and subject matter experts you will develop to become the ‘go to’ person for water sector economic advice. This will involve developing an in-depth understanding of Ofwat’s regulatory framework.
  • You will build relationships with key clients across the sector, as well as with other advisors (e.g., legal and engineering. The projects that you will advise on will be high profile and caried. For example, in recent years we have advised on the regulatory framework for the Thames Tideway Tunnel, every aspect of water companies' business plans, bulk supply trading negotiations, Competition and Markets Authority re-determinations, major transactions, organisational transformations, and much more. If there is a large strategic project taking place in the sector, the chances are we will be advising on it. 
  • There is no ‘typical project’. You will need to apply a structured strategic approach to problem solving, drawing on established economic principles, while having the capacity to think creatively.  
  • The work will include a combination of report drafting, economic analysis, and engaging with clients. 
  • You will need to be comfortable managing, coaching, and mentoring junior staff across a number of projects. 
  • You will contribute towards building the team, identifying opportunities in the market, and providing thought leadership.
