The role is within KPMG UK’s Internal Partnership Tax Team who are responsible for 
dealing with all tax matters relating to KPMG ‘UK’. This role specifically involves reviewing 
and advising on overseas tax and reporting requirements when KPMG ‘UK’ colleagues 
travel/work overseas for business or are authorized to work overseas for personal reasons.

The Role

KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables) and Chemicals. As our clients are facing unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty our ENR tax and legal practice is growing significantly.   

Our clients comprise some of the largest global ENR clients, covering both UK headquartered and inbound groups. Our work covers deal advisory support, international tax and domestic tax advice.  A successful candidate would have opportunities to work across these areas.

Our Deal Advisory Tax work includes advisory services across the whole deal spectrum including company/sell-side vendor assist, refinancing and due diligence projects, to buy-side due diligence and structuring. We help our clients understand historical tax issues and structure transactions, with a continuous focus on maximising value throughout the investment cycle. Working collaboratively across the KPMG network, our work often involves advice on multiple countries, taxes, and work streams.

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, refinancing and leasing as well as the impact of windfall taxes and global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2). 

Cloud Monitoring and Compliance engineer provides visibility into the security and compliance across the entire cloud native technology stack within KPMG. Ensuring configuration and compliance guardrails are being adhered to and that the data and systems deployed within the cloud environments are safe and secure. The position will require in-depth working knowledge of securing cloud environments following industry standards and best practices. Responsibility includes installation, management, maintenance and support of GSOC tools hosted on Windows platform in DataCentre, Azure and O365. Working for GSOC alongside a team of highly motivated and experienced network/security engineers, cyber security analysts and security architects, the successful candidate will be required to support cloud monitoring and compliance over KPMG multi[1]cloud environments. 

Power & Utilities (P&U) is one of the largest business area of the IAG and encompasses work for major clients in the sector, including all UK utilities as well as some of the largest energy and water companies in Europe and beyond. We provide in-depth strategic and technical advice on strategy and business planning and analysis, regulatory finance, corporate financial management, regulatory policy and other areas to help our clients create value for both shareholders and customers. Our work combines elements of policy, finance, economics and strategy to assist our clients in structuring investments, securing financing and supporting regulatory regimes to benefit customers and maximise shareholder value. Our P&U business is currently divided into several practices: Finance, Projects, Strategy, Regulation, Transactions and Benchmarking, and is continuously expanding with double digit growth over the last 10 years. As such we are looking for high quality candidates to support our growth and development of existing and new service lines, while building on the work already undertaken in the Group.
