The Senior Manager provides technical leadership, assurance and governance across Client Payroll Services. A highly technical payroll specialist the role is accountable for ensuring payroll quality, managing material payroll risk and building the standards, controls and capability needed for a scalable payroll service. The Senior Manager acts as ultimate escalation point for high risk issues and works across payroll delivery, and wider teams to protect client outcomes and support service maturity.  Consulting with colleagues to strengthen and develop the offering, support market initiatives, and provide clients with access to wider cross firm introductions.

The Powered Connected Technology team is a community of technology focussed professionals who work together to deliver SaaS ERP based transformation programmes based on KPMG Powered Enterprise. The team use their functional knowledge and experience (e.g. Finance, HR, Procurement), coupled with their expertise in the cloud applications (e.g. Oracle, Workday, Coupa, SAP) to lead and deliver client programmes, to support pre-sales activities and to develop improvement and extensions to the Powered Enterprise model. We are looking for talented Senior Managers to join us in Canada Square, London (although flexibility on location will be considered) with experience in a broad range of areas including:

• Deep tax transformation experience – the ability to analyse tax requirements, design tax processes and implement tax technology solutions
• Strong and practical ERP finance and tax experience, specifically in SAP S4 HANA, Oracle or Workday, as a foundation for tax processes
• Strong experience of design and configuration of ERP systems for tax purposes
• Strong experience of implementing VAT determination engines and bolt-ons, such as Vertex O-Series, Thomson Reuters OneSource Determination, or Meridian VAT Add-On
• Strong tax technology implementation experience, including requirements gathering from a tax, IT and users and creating and reviewing design documentation
• Tax process knowledge, for example indirect tax, direct tax and/or transfer pricing
• Strong familiarity with end-to-end finance processes (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Record-to-report) and their integration with tax
• Advising on appropriate tax technology to support compliance and reporting processes
• Project management
• Client and engagement management

The Tax Technical team is a critical enabler to all tax activities within GCT and provides expertise into KPMG’s complex tax audits.  Audit quality is of paramount importance and to do this efficiently, we maintain a dedicated and enthusiastic team of tax specialists.  We are also the engine room of the tax reporting, compliance, governance and low-level advisory work undertaken by the wider GCT team – servicing large domestic compliance clients as well as our Global Compliance clients.
