The KPMG UK Fintech team is a significant and growing business looking after more than 140 clients. The Fintech team incorporates KPMG’s digital assets business where the firm supports a growing number of UK and International crypto businesses.  Indirect tax is a significant proportion of this Fintech business, and we are looking for an experienced VAT Senior Manager to work alongside the VAT partner who not only leads the Fintech VAT practice, but also leads the wider KPMG Fintech team across the UK.  

Within the National Markets Indirect Tax team we have specialists in sectors such as Retail, Supply Chain and International Trade, FS, Public Sector, Leisure and Travel. The majority of the team specialise in VAT but we also have Trade and Customs and Environmental Tax specialists within the team. We are recruiting for Managers to join our Private Equity, Financial Services, Capital Markets, Mid-Market and Corporates teams (which includes Energy and Natural Resources, Life Sciences, TMT, CDI and SPA) across the UK to support the growth of our TS business.

What will you be doing?

• You will be able to draw on your strong Financial Due Diligence experience to work with a variety of clients or sector specific clients
• Using your analytical skills you will interpret data, generate insights and construct solutions for your clients
• You will have overall responsibility for cost management, reporting, monitoring of recovery rates against budget and invoicing
• You will be responsible for delivering large sections/full work streams from end-to-end and will add value to your clients by working together with other areas of the business to become a trusted adviser
• Producing robust financial analysis and supporting your team by reviewing their work
• You will be a key contact for the client and advisors on a day-to-day basis

A key focus for KPMG’s GCT team is to help multinational groups and financial services clients manage their global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations, through outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation and technology. The Tax Technical team is a critical enabler to all tax activities within GCT and provides expertise into KPMG’s complex tax audits.  Audit quality is of paramount importance and to do this efficiently, we maintain a dedicated and enthusiastic team of tax specialists.  We are also the engine room of the tax reporting, compliance, governance and low-level advisory work undertaken by the wider GCT team – servicing large domestic compliance clients as well as our Global Compliance clients.
