We are looking for a Global Mobility Services (GMS) Manager to work in our People Taxes team across large Financial Services clients.  

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day global coordination and/or UK service delivery of client engagements (dependent on the client portfolio), supported by a junior engagement team.
  • Manage the UK tax compliance and work closely with the KPMG Centre of Excellence to deliver on all aspects of assignee compliance.
  • Be involved in all aspects of cross border advisory - covering tax, social security, process, policy and efficiencies, and project manage advisory projects carried out for clients. Closely collaborate with subject matter experts within International Social Security, Employment Tax, GMS Technology, Reward, Immigration and the network of KPMG Member Firms to deliver on cross-border and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide UK tax technical analysis and advice to clients.
  • Engage with clients on current global mobility and UK tax developments.
  • Support Engagement Leaders with VIP assignee services, including carrying out arrival/departure briefings for senior assignees.
  • Develop, maintain and lead strong client relationships.
  • Manage engagement finances with junior support.
  • Manage and coach junior staff.

We are now looking for talented Managers. The successful candidate will have good UK Corporate Tax Compliance experience, be able to build strong relationships, develop junior staff and provide excellent client service.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and take responsibility for ensuring the tax computations are prepared to a high standard, on a timely basis and finalised and submitted to HMRC within agreed deadlines.
  • Ensuring that clients are kept up to date on developments within Corporate Tax that may affect their businesses, including the implications of new legislation.
  • Oversee the work of junior colleagues, providing coaching and technical guidance as part of the overall review process.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues and opportunities, reviewing technical analysis and involving specialists as appropriate.
  • Respond to client requests for ad hoc technical advice and working with KPMG specialist teams to deliver an excellent and co-ordinated service to the client.
  • Build and develop positive constructive relationships within your team, across KPMG and your client base.
  • Opportunities to support clients with their group reporting needs and support with tax audit work.
  • Manage aspects of the team’s operations and performance including coaching, career management and technical support for other team members.
  • Follow KPMG best practice and policy.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong UK Corporation Tax experience including reviewing computations and returns and acting as a client liaison through the compliance process.
  • Knowledge of tax accounting (FRS 102. IFRS desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to analyse problems, identify core issues and demonstrate curiosity around new ideas approaches and perspectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills.
