Overview

 

This exciting role is within our London Region Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Canary Wharf office. 

 

Our clients include UK headquartered businesses and inbound groups across a range of sectors. 

 

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

 

We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time. 

 

The Role

 

  • Being one of the main points of contact on a portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters and working with Senior Managers and Managers on our larger client accounts
  • Supporting on tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input based on experience and researching topics and by working with other areas of tax and our overseas members firms to incorporate their input into our advice
  • Ensuring our clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business
  • Supporting on the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services
  • Supervising the work of junior members of staff and providing coaching to support their development.
  • Assisting our Managers and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with appropriate quality and risk management procedures and financial management
  • Support the leadership with business development opportunities

  • Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent

Investigations and Compliance (I&C) is part of KPMG’s Forensic practice.  We help clients with their biggest and most challenging misconduct and integrity matters.  Our work helps clients respond to regulatory enquiries, reduce reputational risk and prevent or reduce commercial loss by helping them to investigate and mitigate risks including fraud and misconduct, bribery and corruption, financial crime and much more.
As a result of an exciting and increasing pipeline of fraud analytics work, we are looking for a Manager to help coordinate the strategic direction of a team deploying analytics (including fraud analytics routines and GenAI capabilities) over large complex financial and other datasets, both structured and unstructured.

Description of the role
The role will involve leading a team deploying forensic analytics (including testing routines across structured data and LLM-enabled unstructured, structured and open-source data analysis) over large datasets to help our clients solve their most complex fraud, misconduct and integrity matters.

This role requires a deep understanding of both structured and unstructured data analytics techniques, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills.  The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative analytical solutions leveraging a wide range of techniques, including through the use of SQL, Python, cloud computing and Generative AI (GenAI).

You should expect to work on a variety of project-based work over a cross section of forensic work types, industries and geographies. Day to day activities will vary depending on the type and circumstances of each project.

  • Providing technical transfer pricing advice to our National Markets clients on a broad range of topics
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships including acting as the main point of contact for clients and relevant stakeholders
  • Managing various projects across multiple jurisdictions and leading the day-to-day delivery processes
  • Coordinating with KPMG's transfer pricing, international tax, indirect tax and advisory teams on a range of topics
  • Financial management, including developing and managing project budgets and billing to ensure profitable delivery of client engagements
  • Coaching and developing junior team members which will also include delivering training sessions and providing on-the-job coaching on a regular basis
  • Ensuring timely reporting to senior management
  • Actively contributing to identifying new opportunities and managing business development and marketing initiatives along with proposition and market leads

The Person

We are looking for candidates with the following skills/experience:

  • Either a CTA, CA, ACA, ACCA or attained a Bachelors or Masters degree in economics, finance, law, accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive transfer pricing experience, preferably including experience of preparing transfer pricing documentation, tax value chain analyses, benchmarking, supporting with tax authority enquiries/Advance Pricing Agreements, project management and managing junior team members
  • Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
  • High level of drive and enthusiasm with a positive attitude
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Keen ability and willingness to keep up to date technically and develop the technical ability of the team below you.
