Do you enjoy tax technical research and solving complex technical queries? We are looking for a talented individual at Senior Manager level, from either a corporate or mixed tax background, to be part of our national Central Technical Team. The ideal candidate will have very strong technical skills, drive and curiosity.

The Central Technical team works together with teams across the tax practice to collect, create, curate and communicate technical insight for the benefit of our teams and clients. This involves both carrying out original research and analysing knowledge submissions to produce and maintain technical resources to support our teams in delivering work to clients, assisting with complex technical queries, producing tax technical newsletters and monitoring important tax technical developments arising as a result of case law or the annual Budget and Finance Bill process, working closely with the separate Tax Policy team as required.

Tax Manager – Corporate Tax Compliance and Advisory

Base Location: Leeds is the main hub however we are open to regional candidates as well.

 What will you be doing?

•  Being one of the main points of contact on a portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters and working with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers on our larger client accounts
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding the client’s business
• Managing tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input and overseeing the successful delivery of commercially viable and technically excellent advice including working with other areas of tax and our overseas members firms to incorporate their input into our advice
• Ensuring our clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business
• Managing the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services
• Supervising the work of junior members of staff and providing coaching to support their development.
• Assisting our Partners, Directors and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with appropriate quality and risk management procedures and financial management
• Seeking out and pursuing business development opportunities with clients and targets and actively participating with Senior Managers, Directors / Partners in business development activities

 What will you need to do it?

• Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent
• Strong UK corporation tax compliance and advisory experience, including tax accounting
• Ability to:

The Opportunity

• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
• The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).
