Power & Utilities (P&U) is the largest business area of the IAG and encompasses work for major clients in the sector, including all UK utilities as well as some of the largest energy and water companies in Europe and beyond. We provide in-depth strategic and technical advice on strategy and business planning and analysis, corporate finance and corporate financial management, regulatory policy, cost assessment and benchmarking as well as in other areas to help our clients create value for both shareholders and customers. Our work combines elements of policy, finance, strategy and economics to assist our clients in structuring investments, securing financing, supporting regulatory regimes for the benefit of customers as well as maximising shareholder value. We are widely recognised by many industry stakeholders as market leaders influencing the future of the utilities sector.

This area continues to grow and we are looking for a high quality candidate to support our Power & Utilities business with a particular focus on giving strategic advice to clients in relation to the evolving regulation and policy framework affecting the energy networks.

The Powered Apps teams are communities of technology focussed professionals who work together to deliver SaaS ERP based transformation programmes based on KPMG Powered Enterprise. The teams use their functional knowledge and experience (e.g., Finance, HR, Procurement), coupled with their expertise in the cloud applications (e.g. Oracle, Workday, Coupa) to lead and deliver client programmes, to support pre-sales activities and to develop improvement and extensions to the Powered Enterprise model. KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for a Director role.  The role will focus on Deal Strategy within the Media industry as part of the wider Telecommunications-Media-Technology sector, but with scope to work on the wider range of services including Growth Strategy, Deal Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy (including Economic Profitability Analysis) and Enterprise-wide Transformation.

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Data Engineer with strong expertise in the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, including Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and Delta Lake. This role requires hands-on experience in building and optimising data pipelines and notebooks, transforming large datasets, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable data solutions, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and helping shape our modern data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and notebooks using Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and optimise complex data transformation and ingestion logic to support enterprise-level reporting and analytics.
• Leverage Delta Lake architecture to support both batch and streaming data processes.
• Develop high-quality, reusable code in Python and PySpark, following best practices and ensuring maintainability.
• Create insightful, interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Use Git and Azure DevOps (ADO) for version control and deployment workflows.
• Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of data systems.
• Advocate for best practices in data governance, data quality, and documentation.
