• Banking Accounting Advisory (BAA) is a team of Banking and Financial Services technical accounting specialists with extensive experience delivering expert accounting advisory services, financial reporting and regulatory change projects to major Tier-1 global banks, challenger banks and building societies.

• We have deep expertise in complex accounting within the Banking and Financial Services sector such as IFRS 9, hedge accounting, securitisations and other structured transactions, derivatives, and deal accounting for mergers and acquisitions and group reorganisations.

• We also provide SME advice on the critical interactions between IFRS and PRA/EBA regulatory regimes.

The Opportunity

• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
• The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).

Tax Manager – Corporate Tax Compliance and Advisory

Base Location: Leeds is the main hub however we are open to regional candidates as well.

 What will you be doing?

•  Being one of the main points of contact on a portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters and working with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers on our larger client accounts
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding the client’s business
• Managing tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input and overseeing the successful delivery of commercially viable and technically excellent advice including working with other areas of tax and our overseas members firms to incorporate their input into our advice
• Ensuring our clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business
• Managing the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services
• Supervising the work of junior members of staff and providing coaching to support their development.
• Assisting our Partners, Directors and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with appropriate quality and risk management procedures and financial management
• Seeking out and pursuing business development opportunities with clients and targets and actively participating with Senior Managers, Directors / Partners in business development activities

 What will you need to do it?

• Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent
• Strong UK corporation tax compliance and advisory experience, including tax accounting
• Ability to:

Our Securitisation team is made up of client facing staff delivering a range of engagements across a broad spectrum of clients. These clients include investment banks who arrange securitisation transactions and the clients who undertake them, including national and ‘challenger’ banks, foreign banks, building societies, leasing and other lending companies.

We are recruiting a Manager who will be involved in all aspects of project managing our engagements from planning through to completion. Your role will include executive level client interaction and provide you with the exposure to multiple clients on a regular basis. Our current activity levels support the growth and expansion of the existing team.
