KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for a Director role, with a sector focus on the Consumer, Retail & Leisure industry and with particular experience in Deal Strategy, one of our core propositions. Cloud Monitoring and Compliance engineer provides visibility into the security and compliance across the entire cloud native technology stack within KPMG. Ensuring configuration and compliance guardrails are being adhered to and that the data and systems deployed within the cloud environments are safe and secure. The position will require in-depth working knowledge of securing cloud environments following industry standards and best practices. Responsibility includes installation, management, maintenance and support of GSOC tools hosted on Windows platform in DataCentre, Azure and O365. Working for GSOC alongside a team of highly motivated and experienced network/security engineers, cyber security analysts and security architects, the successful candidate will be required to support cloud monitoring and compliance over KPMG multi[1]cloud environments.

Overview

This exciting role is within our London Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Canary Wharf office. 

Our clients include UK headquartered businesses and inbound groups across a range of sectors. 

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time. 

The role

• Working closely with Partners, Directors and/or Senior Managers on complex projects to deliver technically excellent advice and service

• Managing UK and cross border teams on advisory projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms and external advisers, critically analysing and challenging their input to deliver successful projects and expertise to our clients
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
• Managing teams and coaching and developing junior members of staff both in respect of technical delivery and soft skills
• Managing our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials
• Being a role model for KPMG’s values

The person

• Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent

• UK corporation tax experience

What will you be doing?

• Drive and lead the day-to-day execution of Advisory Engagements (Sarbanes-Oxley assistance, Risk Assessments, Maturity Assessments, Internal Controls Diagnostics Reviews) for clients, including activities such as Design and development of risk assessments, development of SOx/ICFR frameworks, testing plans, working papers, production of reports summarizing results, and other deliverables based on the specific engagement requirements
• Serve as a coach and mentor and provide opportunities for on-the-job training for staff, as well as other team members
• Work closely to develop and train our offshore team in SOx regulations and working practices
• Identify and clearly communicate issues and share best practices to client personnel and senior management
• Work with partners and directors to assist in practice management including resource alloca

Job Summary

We are looking for motivated, entrepreneurial corporate lawyers with experience of corporate reorganisations, strong technical skills, and a desire to work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment

The successful candidate would preferably have experience in delivering international business reorganisations and be: 

• a strong technical lawyer with good knowledge of English corporate law and experience delivering a variety of intra-group reorganisations for clients;
