The Opportunity

  • KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
  • KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
  • The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
  • The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.

The Role:

Your team will work alongside a Product Owner who will help prioritise deliverables allowing you to focus on creating world-class solutions.

The role can be based anywhere in the UK, though preference will be given to candidates in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and London. We generally spend two days per week in the office. Remote or part-time workers are welcome to apply.

Whilst there is no expectation of existing knowledge of tax, we would expect you to develop a degree of domain knowledge over time.

What will you be doing?

•    Risk management, governance and internal audit advisory services
•    Risk identification workshops and control reviews
•    Delivering control and risk training
•    Managing and reviewing internal control questionnaires
•    Compliance internal audits
•    Working with members of other KPMG advisory teams
•    Retaining management responsibility for a portfolio of clients, maintaining relationships with senior KPMG and client staff and is responsible for the financial performance and delivery of these accounts
•    Demonstrating a detailed understanding of how current and emerging legal, regulatory, governance, risk management, auditing, accounting and financial reporting standards affect their clients
•    Undertaking KPMG's internal risk management and client engagement management procedures including client acceptance, continuance and engagement procedures
•    Keeping up to date with all industry specific issues and circumstances which affect their clients
•    Developing audit strategies which address all audit, client service and project management issues, in accordance with the KPMG internal audit methodology
