KPMG’s Infrastructure Group in the UK consists of c400 professionals and is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading independent business, financial and regulatory advisers in infrastructure.. We provide in-depth advice on strategic, financial, regulatory and commercial issues driving investments in infrastructure across Power & Utilities (“P&U”), Transport, Telecoms and Social Infrastructure in the UK and globally. Our work includes market and policy design, economic and regulatory analysis, deal structuring and execution, as well as strategic and transaction advice to enable private and public capital to fund infrastructure. Power & Utilities is one of the the largest business area for the Infrastructure Group and encompasses work for large clients in the sector, including all of the leading UK energy and water companies as well as some of the largest utilities in Europe and beyond. We are currently expanding our Telecoms and Digital practice within our Power & Utilities business. Our Telecoms and Digital team delivers expert advice on regulations, policy development, and commercial strategy. Tax and Legal Technology Team

We are a team of 300+ technologists providing technology enablement services and solutions across the Tax and Legal business. This business has 2,500 tax & legal professionals covering multiple disciplines. We serve many thousands of clients and private individuals by providing a modern, market-leading suite of technology solutions that provide an efficient digital experience from routine to complex tax advice depending on client’s situation.

Tax is highlighted frequently as an industry where generative AI will have a significant impact on how services are provided. You will be working as a team at the forefront of navigating that change and redefining the way in which tax is determined in the UK and globally, making sure people and companies pay the right amount of tax with the minimum amount of effort.

KPMG’s Fixed Asset Tax Services Team (capital allowances) is made up of tax advisers, accountants, chartered surveyors and ex-HMRC inspectors who deliver expert advice to a broad range of clients across almost every industry sector. As one of the largest teams in the industry, our continued investment and desire to grow means that we seek a capital allowances specialist in London.

Our team works with clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large multinational organisations. We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our London team, focusing primarily on the real estate, infrastructure, banking, and insurance sectors, who has a background in capital allowances, tax or accounting.

Role and Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be:

• A client facing individual who will work collaboratively with engagement teams both locally and nationally to prepare capital allowances claims, elections and allowances statements.
• Actively involved in delivering ad-hoc advisory work such as entitlement reviews, transaction input (such as tax due diligence, structuring and modelling) and significant one-off consultancy projects.
• Supporting the engagement team on mandatory risk procedures.
• Keeping documentation up to date and managing junior team members.
• Sharing knowledge.
• Starting to work with local stakeholders and peers to establish a strong network of referrals and business development opportunities.
• Helping the team with business development opportunities and assisting in the preparation of proposals.
• Assisting in the preparation of technical queries from other parts of the firm.
