Summary of Role Purpose:

KPMG’s FS Forensic Financial Services practice is a key contributor to the Firm’s strategic growth initiatives. We now need an experienced and dependable Assistant Manager to assist in converting the existing pipeline, expand it with our current offerings and to develop our technology propositions.

Assistant Managers are responsible for managing the delivery of a range of financial crime projects. The team assists clients to assess, assure, review, test, and improve their financial crime systems whilst using innovative Data Analytics tools and approaches. They will be expected to collaborate across FS Consulting to deliver the best solutions for our clients.

An Assistant Manager who is a Technology SME is required to utilise knowledge and expertise to support the delivery of a range of financial crime projects with a particular focus on financial crime review, audit, assurance, and advisory-oriented engagements. Projects will be varied in nature and will include work to help clients design their approach to assurance as well as executing framework-wide or thematic reviews.

What will you be doing?

• Combine technical financial crime knowledge (across transaction and fraud monitoring, transaction and customer screening, and customer due diligence) and data analytics knowledge to deliver projects to a high standard.
• Leverage your technical knowledge, experience, and contacts to contribute to the development of proposals and in generating new business for the firm.
• Manage and mentor Technology Analysts from diverse backgrounds during projects.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory risk/landscape and use this awareness to flag issues of importance to the operation.
• Develop financial crime policies and procedures.
• Contribute to or develop proposals and propositions for internal or external clients.

What will you need to do it?

• Tenacious problem-solving attitude: the ability to identify and fix issues before they become critical.
• Financial Crime Knowledge: Using your existing Financial Crime knowledge and experience to design and carry out end-to-end testing of Financial crime systems. These systems can include screening, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and fraud detection.
• Risk Management: Experience in assisting with scoping, adherence to risk and management standards, internal financial management, managing delivery risk, production, and review of deliverables.
• Data: Ensuring teams can balance and manage data analysis of large volumes of data, structured and unstructured, utilising a wide range of database management systems, reporting systems, and visualisation software.

About this team

The Global Insurance Management Team (“GIMT”) is responsible for the management, oversight and coordination of KPMG's Global Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) and First Party Cyber Insurance Programs providing business critical insurance to approximately 145 member firms within the KPMG network. The GIMT acts as a principal point of contact between insurers/brokers and KPMG Member Firms, providing guidance to KPMG Member Firms on matters pertaining to the Global PII and Cyber insurance programs and is involved in the development and procurement of other insurance placements for KPMG International.

Role summary

KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Insurance Manager to join our Global Insurance Management Team (“GIMT”) experienced in the field of financial lines insurance particularly Professional Indemnity Insurance (“PII”) and Cyber Insurance. The individual will work closely with other GIMT team members and be responsible for providing technical insurance support in respect of KPMG's Global PII and Cyber Insurance Programs and in support of ongoing business change initiatives. The individual will interface directly with a range of internal and external stakeholders including KPMGI Senior Leadership, KPMG Member Firm Senior Partners, Risk Management Partners, General Counsels, insurers (including captive insurers) and brokers.

The role will focus on providing technical support and guidance relating to all aspects of insurance program management including program design and implementation, policy wording reviews, coverage analysis, insurance support for business change initiatives and issues associated with global insurance programs including insurance regulatory compliance. The Tax Technical team is a critical enabler to all tax activities within GCT and provides expertise into KPMG’s complex tax audits.  Audit quality is of paramount importance and to do this efficiently, we maintain a dedicated and enthusiastic team of tax specialists.  We are also the engine room of the tax reporting, compliance, governance and low-level advisory work undertaken by the wider GCT team – servicing large domestic compliance clients as well as our Global Compliance clients.
