KPMG is part of a global network of firms that offers Audit, Tax & Pensions, Consulting, Deal Advisory and Technology services. Through the talent of over 16,000 colleagues, we bring our creativity and insight to our clients’ most critical challenges. With offices across the UK, we work with everyone from small start-ups and social enterprises to national government bodies and major multinationals, in virtually every industry imaginable. Our work is often complex, yet our vision is simple: to be the clear choice for our clients, for our people and for the communities in which we work.

We are a global leader in Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare Consulting with a long track record of working across the UK in local government, central government, policing, transport, healthcare and higher education. We are investing in growing our team to meet growing demand and make more impact for our clients.

Our goal is to help our clients and deliver meaningful change. We aim to be the transformation and major programme delivery partner of choice to public bodies in the UK, drawing on our nationally distributed team and wider global networks and expertise.

Our team builds long term relationships with our clients, focussed on organisational change, digital transformation and system redesign. We help our clients rethink public services for the digital age. We go from design all the way to delivery, to help build capacity and capability and to create the infrastructure needed to fuel economic growth.

Our Corporate Services Transformation Team is an integral part of KPMG’s Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) Practice. Joining our industry leading practice will expose you to work on a range of high-profile assignments helping our clients address their most challenging issues and achieve their biggest opportunities. You will benefit from working with and alongside specialists from a number of disciplines and experts.

The Role

As a Director in our rapidly expanding IGH practice you will be central to the development of our growth strategy, identifying opportunities for KPMG to make an even greater impact, originating new work, and managing sustainable growth.

As part of this you will lead the design and implementation of large-scale public service reform, performance improvement, and transformation programmes, with a particular focus on corporate services transformation. You will bring together KPMG and client capabilities to solve complex problems and deliver ambitious outcomes.

As an experienced leader of change in the public and/or private sectors, you may specialise in programme delivery, cost optimisation, process improvement or another discipline, and will also bring enough expertise and experience of digital transformation, public policy, procurement, technology, and operational delivery to design and oversee overarching change programmes. You will be working with senior clients including Programme Directors, Chief Financial officers,  Chief Operating Officers, SROs, CEOs and Permanent Secretaries, as well as leaders in the wider public sector including policing, infrastructure and transport, and health.

You will also lead, manage and develop KPMG teams, capabilities and propositions, and will be accountable for developing our ability to deliver high quality work for clients as we continue to grow our share of the market. You will help our people to grow and shape their consulting careers across IGH and the wider firm.

Joining our industry leading IGH practice will expose you to work on a range of high-profile assignments helping organisations, politicians, officials, policy-makers and public sector leaders address their most challenging issues.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work together with KPMG colleagues and clients to:

  • Identify options and solutions to address complex client issues and challenges around the transformation and delivery of their back office(s).

  • Proactively maintain project oversight, including financial and project risk management
  • Develop networks across KPMG to bring additional expertise and value to our clients

  Skills & Qualifications

  • You will have significant people leadership and performance management experience, including experience of coaching or managing a wide range of staff.
