Why a Tax Apprenticeship?

Join us on this programme as a Tax apprentice and you’ll be joining a team that works collaboratively with organisations of all shapes and sizes, helping them to navigate complex tax policy landscapes, and stay compliant with regulation by paying the right tax at the right time.

Today’s tax function is rapidly evolving, keeping up with growing digitisation, increased regulation and the importance of ESG (environmental, social and governance) ambitions. Our job is to keep up with those developments, advising clients of new risks and opportunities. Especially important as companies focus on ESG priorities, shining a light on their tax affairs, whilst governments globally seek to drive greater tax transparency, and use tax as an incentive to help achieve wider environmental and social ambitions.

We seamlessly bring together our specialist tax services to help address our clients’ needs. You will be exposed to and will develop a broad understanding of those services in Business Tax, People Services & Family Office and Private Client whilst you study for a professional qualification, providing you with structured learning through a blend of innovative online, and in person study. You’ll develop valuable technical skills and have the support of our learning community – helping you to fulfil your potential in your career.

Our firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in offices or at client sites. We trust our people to be where our clients need them to be, with our client-facing colleagues working together in person as often as needed. You’ll be empowered by the technology that supports us to work flexibly and our collaborative offices spaces, building friendships and shared experiences, innovating and learning together.

Join our KPMG community, and we’ll empower you to learn, grow, thrive and do work that matters.

Training and development

The training and development of our people is critical to the future success of our business. We want all of our Apprentices to embrace a growth mindset of learning every day, which is why we have created a rich curriculum and learning community to help trainees build their skills and fulfil their potential. This ranges from an immersive 5-day induction experience, formal training courses, leadership knowledge bites, learning journals, online courses and networking events – all aligned to our life-long learning strategy and part of our overall student package.

In addition, as part of your KPMG Tax Apprenticeship you will complete the AAT Level 3 and 4 plus the Level 7 ATT CTA Professional Qualification.

The KPMG Tax Apprenticeship uses innovative technology and is delivered via a blend of Online Classroom Live and Recorded courses plus in-centre classroom courses. This blended approach enables you to study and learn the content at a pace suited to your learning style, but ensures all are at the right technical level at every stage of the qualification and apprenticeship. The structure of the programme spreads the examinations over the lifetime of the five year training agreement so that you are able to build up your technical knowledge, and can continuously apply what you are learning in training to your workplace experience through your apprenticeship skills and behaviours and off-the-job (OTJ) training. You will have wrap around support which consists of dedicated professional coaches, online portal content and live and recorded additional study sessions, which means there is a form of support for your every need.
