KPMG Discovery Week
Our KPMG Discovery Week gives you the chance to gain invaluable work experience in the professional services industry, it’ll give you an excellent insight into one of the world’s leading professional services firms, the work we do, the industries we work in and the big issues facing our clients.
Whichever office you choose to join, the KPMG Discovery Week will allow you to develop the skills you need to build a successful career. During the programme you will undertake a series of interactive business challenges, skills workshops and research tasks designed to develop some of the key skills needed to thrive at KPMG. You will also have the opportunity to meet and hear presentations from KPMG employees across the business, work shadow and see the type of work our employees undertake on a day-to-day basis.
Who is it for?
Our Discovery programme is for students in Year 12/ S5 or Year 13 / S6 who have a strong desire to learn and are interested in a career at a firm such as KPMG. We’re looking for people who want to take the early steps towards their future career, as well as discovering more about themselves.
Investing in the future
Students on the Discovery Week will be eligible to fast track through the application process for KPMG360°, KPMG360° Digital, KPMG360° Business Services or KPMG Audit Apprenticeship Programmes (subject to meeting the required academic requirements.)

Please note you will need to meet Access Accountancy criteria in order to make an application to the KPMG Discovery week.
This initiative makes it easier for young people from low income families to access the accountancy profession. With that in mind, we will only be accepting applications from people who meet the following Access Accountancy criteria.
You will need to:
Attend state school or college AND
- Be eligible (or have been eligible) for free school meals (or attend a school with ‘above regional average’ free school meals.) OR
- Your immediate family did not attend University
Where and when does the programme run?
KPMG Discovery Week runs throughout the summer in our Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London KPMG offices.
Please note when applying the expectation is that you are available to attend the whole duration of the programme in your chosen location, if your application is successful.

Through work shadowing and business games, you’ll get a ‘first taste’ of what it’s like to work in the professional services industry.
