Training and development

As one of the fastest growing areas of KPMG, and indeed the wider economy in general, technology is a great place to develop your business understanding, consultancy skills and career. The breadth of our work, expertise and clients means there’s always the chance to learn new things. We’ll also provide a strong support network for you to maximise every opportunity that comes your way.

Training will continue throughout your career at KPMG, but during your first couple of years we focus on equipping you with a strong foundation of technical and industry knowledge. That is why the majority of your training will be on the job and you'll participate in formal classroom or residential courses and via our dedicated online training portal - so you'll have a rounded learning experience to best support your development.

You’ll commence a tailored training path designed to take you through the 3 years and get the opportunity to rotate through a number of client facing projects, where you’ll put this formal training to practical use.

You may also have the opportunity to study for an industry accredited qualification where relevant, focusing on key technology specialisms, that will help you through your graduate programme and into your future career.

Additional important information

People who excel are passionate about continually adapting their skills and knowledge to solve our clients’ most challenging problems. You will need to have an interest in the challenges facing our clients today and be prepared to advise them or assist with a technological solution that will drive their business practices into the future.

Whilst you don’t necessarily have to be a technical guru, we are looking for individuals who have an interest in technology and a desire to get involved in a variety of complex projects, build knowledge quickly and develop their technical skills through a combination of on the job and formal training. Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable working with technology in order to meet clients' needs. We encourage applicants who are interested in a career in technology and display a willingness to learn new technical roles. Graduates who have prior application development experience can pursue more technical roles if desired, but all graduates get the chance to acquire and deepen technical skills and navigate their career as suits them best.

Case study

Data & Technology Consulting graduate programme | London

Hannie

"At the moment, I’m working on a data analysis project. Essentially, we’re trying to attract tech talent to a UK bank that’s looking to expand digitally. Right now, we’re finding out what people like about their jobs, what they don’t and what could be improved, and then coming up with a strategy. It’s really interesting.

You definitely don’t need to be worried about not coming from a tech background. As long as you can show a passion for technology and you're motivated, you'll have all the training and support you need to get up to speed."
