Why do you recruit school and college leavers?
Quite simply, because they’re our future. Plus, research shows there’s a growing pool of talent who are considering starting a career straight after their A-Levels or Scottish Highers rather than going down the traditional university route. We think these people have just as much potential to succeed with us as our graduate trainees.
Our drive to recruit trainees into KPMG is part of our long-term recruitment strategy to attract talented people from all walks of life. We’re really proud to say our trainees come from all kinds of diverse backgrounds – so you can rest assured that anyone you know will fit in just fine here.
In February 2014, KPMG won 'The Best School Leaver Programme Award' at the TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment awards.
What are the programmes?
We've created our Programmes with school and college leavers in mind.
KPMG360° is our innovative apprenticeship programme, giving school and college leavers the chance to join KPMG and work with some of the best and brightest in the business world. Importantly, it includes a foundation year that’s specifically designed so they can experience all areas of the business before they go on to choose an area of specialisation and gain a professional qualification.
Our Audit School and College Leaver Programme is a five-year programme that offers trainees the chance to obtain a university degree and professional accounting qualification, as well as taking advantage of a variety of opportunities they wouldn’t find anywhere else.
KPMG Discovery is for Year 12 students looking to gain work experience, an insight into KPMG and our departments. This two or five-day (depending on office location) programme will give them useful industry knowledge, career opportunities and the chance to develop the skills they’ll need to apply for a role with us.
Where do we have opportunities?
To find out where opportunities are available, please visit our ‘How to apply’ section and search for vacancies. Please note that, as well as working alongside KPMG professionals in our offices, our school and college leavers can also expect to travel to client offices around the region, which sometimes can involve travelling further afield in the UK or even overseas.
KPMG360˚ is available in our Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Reading, Nottingham and Southampton offices.
Our Audit School and College Leaver Programme is available in our Birmingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Nottingham, Plymouth, Reading and Watford with students also attending Birmingham University. And remember, we’ll pay for all associated tuition and accommodation fees for this part of the programme. After graduation, for their professional qualification, trainees are allocated a college near to their office, though again some travel may be needed from time to time.
KPMG Discovery is available in KPMG offices across the UK.
We have clear travel policies in place, and care is taken to ensure all employees’ well-being is considered. The nature of the work provides exciting opportunities to experience different businesses, offices and cities.
