Join our Tax Vacation programme and learn about working collaboratively with organisations of all shapes and sizes, helping them to navigate complex tax policy landscapes, and stay compliant with regulation by paying the right tax at the right time.

Our four-week Tax Vacation programme gives you the chance to gain practical experience as part of our supportive and diverse KPMG community. You’ll find out more about our diverse tax teams and the scale and breadth of the work we do, develop your business knowledge and build technical skills. It's an opportunity to make new contacts, enhance your CV and discover what it’s like to be part of our supportive and vibrant community.

You’ll gain insights into how we help our clients manage tax issues, such as digitally transforming business models and reacting to significant changes to taxation policy. Across the spectrum of company and personal tax issues, you could learn about the holistic advice we provide, spanning international tax, deal advisory tax, transfer pricing and indirect taxes. You could explore the tax intricacies of employee reward, as well as managing tax issues arising as result of having a global workforce, or develop knowledge of how we support high net worth individuals and entrepreneurial families to manage their tax affairs and preserve their legacies.

If you’re successful on the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to be considered for our Tax Graduate programme in the same office location starting in 2025. As such, please ensure you have a commitment to the Vacation programme location that you apply to.

Generally, you’ll be expected to demonstrate the following grades (*or equivalents), to show that you’re able to successfully study for professional qualifications. If you are a few grades or points short, we would still encourage you to apply, as your application will be reviewed together with your performance in our assessments. You‘ll also have the opportunity to provide additional information for us to assess your application and potential in the context of your socio-economic background and/or any extenuating circumstances, which may have a positive uplift on your academic achievements through contextual recruitment.   • Grade 5 or B GCSE* Maths
  • Grade 5 or B GCSE* English Language
  • 120 UCAS points* from your ‘top’ 3 grades, excluding General Studies under the 2017 tariff point system at A Level (300 UCAS points pre-2017)

On track to achieve a 2:1 undergraduate Our Vacation programmes are open to students in their penultimate year of university or who are due to graduate in 2025.

Training and development

As the vacation programme is not that long, the focus for you will be to ensure every second counts. Above all else, it’s about gaining experience on real-time, real-life projects. It's an opportunity to learn new skills, enhance your CV, learn about the world of work and, importantly, get your foot in the door of one of the leading professional services firms. And if you're inspired by the time you spend with us here and go on to join us full-time once you’ve graduated, you’ll get access to exemplary training and development to help you thrive.

The training and development of our people is critical to the future success of our business. This ranges from an immersive 5-day induction experience to help with the transition to the world of work, formal training courses, leadership knowledge bites, learning journals, online courses and networking events – all aligned to our ‘learn for a lifetime’ strategy designed to help trainees gain an advantage for life.  As part of your vacation programme, you will be introduced to this package and have the opportunity to experience some of the training and development curriculum and learning community.
