Job description

Our Forensic practice helps clients protect their businesses by reducing reputational risk and commercial loss. Combining accounting investigation, technology and industry skills, our teams specialise in investigations and compliance (including fraud risk management, corporate intelligence, anti-bribery), as well as anti-money laundering, dispute advisory services and accounting advisory services.

Our 3-year Forensic Intensive Graduate Programme is designed to build your commercial and business awareness. It also provides the opportunity to study towards the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales qualification (ACA). You'll receive structured internal training and opportunities to help clients across a variety of sectors, feeding your curiosity.

The Intensive Programme is KPMG’s front-loaded, classroom-based ACA product which focuses on upskilling trainees more quickly. This means that for the first 12 months of your training contract you will solely focus on passing 14 out of 15 ACA exams, and come into the business on two work experience placements. One is a structured, 6-week work experience placement during the first quarter of the calendar year after you join, and the second comes after you have completed your 14 exams. The 3 main training hubs for the Intensive Programme are London, Birmingham and Manchester. Regardless of the selected home office, you will be expected to relocate to one area in order to dedicate the time to attend the programme for the first 12 months.

If you apply for the Forensic Intensive Graduate Programme in London you are applying to be based in the Dispute Advisory Services team. This team assists clients with the financial and accounting aspects of commercial disputes.

If you apply for Forensic Intensive Graduate Programme in Bristol, you are applying to join the Accounting Advisory Services team. This team leads on supporting clients ensuring the integrity of their balance sheet and provides technical accounting input to wider forensic projects.

In both cases there may also be opportunities to work with other teams across Forensic and building relationships with colleagues across Our KPMG.

We’re reimagining how we work at KPMG. Our firm is creating a tech-driven business to empower and equip our people to be outstanding in delivery – through inspiring workspaces, innovative ways to collaborate and hybrid ways of working. In your role, you’ll work flexibly across your location region – at KPMG offices, engagement sites and from home.

Training and Development:

The training and development of our people is critical to the future success of our business. In addition, in Forensic we currently offer the ACA.

The Intensive Programme is KPMG’s upfront ACA learning product. The Intensive Programme is KPMG’s front-loaded, classroom-based ACA product which focuses on upskilling trainees more quickly. This means that for the first circa 10 months of your training contract you will solely focus on passing 14 out of 15 ACA exams and come into the business on two work experience placements. One is a structured, work experience placement in the busy season of your programme, and the second comes after you have completed your 14 exams. This programme allows you to focus purely on your professional qualification in your first year. In the remaining two years of your training contract you can concentrate on building up a fantastic range of work experience (with only one exam left to complete) and will have the technical knowledge to apply within the workplace. The entire programme is supported by a wide range of mechanisms that will be applied by your tuition provider or KPMG when you require them, but due to the intense pace of the programme you will need to be really dedicated in your approach to learning.
The three main training hubs for the Intensive Programme are London, Birmingham and Manchester. Regardless of the selected home office, you will be expected to relocate to one area in order to dedicate the time to attend the programme for the first 10 months.
