We focus on providing clarity to Boards, Executives and SRO’s at major public and private sector organisations, on the delivery of their projects and programmes. Why Join KPMG as a Tax Manager – Private Client (US High Net Worth Team)

We are looking to recruit a US Private Client Tax Manager to be based in our London office. The role will involve working closely in a strong team on a range of clients and exciting projects, collaborating with different teams and locations across the firm, as well as helping build a new US tax practice in a Big 4 firm

 

What will you be doing?

 

As a US/UK tax manager, you will be required to manage all aspects of the tax compliance process and the wider client relationship management.  You will be required to lead and assist on advisory projects involving various tax and residency queries whilst developing and maintaining client relationships, under the support of a senior manager and/or director.

Aside from the technical role, you will be involved in the continuing building and development of a new US tax team within a Big 4 firm and expected to have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and constructively at a variety of levels with clients, their other professional advisors and your colleagues.

  • Managing the complete compliance process whilst ensuring work meets expected standards, including minimising risk and ensuring an excellent level of client service is maintained throughout.
  • Reviewing US tax returns and communicating points back to the team, and signing out completed tax returns as agreed with senior staff
  • Strong experience with US and non-US trusts, inc

This programme is aimed primarily at students who come from a low socioeconomic background. By low socioeconomic background we mean:

  • Attended state school or college, and
  • The occupation of your main household earner when you were aged 14 is categorised as coming from a lower socio-economic background*, or
  • Whilst at school you were eligible for free school meals (or you attended a school with ‘above regional average’ free school meals**), or
  • Your immediate family did not attend university.

*Parental occupation socio-economic classification is a national standard and the Social Mobility Work’s toolkit (found here) provides details on the categorisations.

**Free School Meals are a statutory benefit available to school-aged children from families who receive other qualifying benefits and who have been through the relevant registration process. It does not include those who receive meals at school through other means e.g. boarding school.
