From our inclusive leadership strategy to our diversity and inclusion targets – we’re making bold changes to who we are and what we do. Be part of it.

We are looking to recruit a US Private Client Tax Senior Manager to be based in our London office. The role will involve working closely in a strong team on a range of clients and exciting projects, collaborating with different teams and locations across the firm, as well as helping build a new US tax practice in a Big 4 firm.

Roles and Responsibility

As a US/UK senior tax manager, you will be required to manage a comprehensive and complex client list, provide line and performance management and make a significant contribution to building the new US tax practice within a Big 4 firm. You will have a direct contribution to the development and achievement of building the practice and will be required to build and maintain relationships with third parties, such as lawyers, trustees, wealth managers and more.  You will be expected to advise clients in connection with their tax affairs and onboard them to the team to offer bespoke advice and specifically have technical expertise in the advice and compliance affairs of business owners.

You should already be working as an experienced manager, or senior manager and looking to develop your role considerably through technical advice, client management and business development.

Responsibilities, requirements and experience:

  • Top management of the compliance process and ensuring work meets expected standards which is fed back through to your team, including minimising risk and ensuring an excellent level of client service is maintained throughout.
  • Signing off US tax returns including specifically Forms 5471, 8865 and other corporate-type reporting.
  • Line managing and managing the performance levels of multiple members of staff in your team.
  • Delegating work to other members of the team and having the ability to train and develop their understanding in both technical and soft skills.
  • Good base knowledge of various areas of tax (such as estate/gift tax, IHT and corporate tax) and to be able to involve other colleagues within the firm where necessary.
  • Client engagement and onboarding, management and building relationships, ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met.
