SAP Capability & Delivery Lead (CDL)

Summary of Role

The SAP CDL is accountable for the quality of delivery of all SAP engagements, both functional and technical, through a matrixed team of Engagement Leaders and Engagement Managers. The CDL enables the growth of our SAP business by validating dealboard submissions, driving resourcing (on, near and offshore), embedding scalable and repeatable methods, incorporating lessons learned to improve delivery, and providing delivery assurance to SAP engagements.

 

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Provide constructive challenge through the Deal Board and Solution Review processes with strong focus on delivery risk, client obligations, fixed price contingency level and risks that could erode EP and impact delivery success
  • Identify and initiate new opportunities from existing SAP engagements
  • EQCR for complex SAP deliveries – opportunity through to engagement

 

Capability Build  

Resourcing

  • Grow team of SAP Engagement Leaders and Engagement Managers to ensure strength in delivery management
  • Approve EL and EM accreditation requests for SAP service lines
  • Maintain tight visibility of pipeline to ensure to resourcing budgets and targets are aligned and agreed for each year
  • Manage timely resource planning and recruitment of functional and technical resources for all SAP engagements across all locations – on, near and offshore along with global reach to other KPMG locations and third parties
  • Ensure engagement team make up contains the right skills experience and diversity

Base Location: Leeds is the main hub however we are open to regional candidates as well.

 What will you be doing?

  •  Being one of the main points of contact on a portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters and working with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers on our larger client accounts
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding the client’s business
  • Managing tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input and overseeing the successful delivery of commercially viable and technically excellent advice including working with other areas of tax and our overseas members firms to incorporate their input into our advice
  • Ensuring our clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business
  • Managing the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services
  • Supervising the work of junior members of staff and providing coaching to support their development.
  • Assisting our Partners, Directors and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with appropriate quality and risk management procedures and financial management
  • Seeking out and pursuing business development opportunities with clients and targets and actively participating with Senior Managers, Directors / Partners in business development activities

 What will you need to do it?

  • Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent
  • Strong UK corporation tax compliance and advisory experience, including tax accounting
  • Ability to:
    • Analyse problems, identify core issues, investigate, evaluate, and integrate information
    • Communicate with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent, and clear
    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
    • Sustain a high level of drive, show enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work
