Corporate Tax Compliance, Managed Services – Assistant Manager

 

A key focus for KPMG’s GCT team is to help multinational groups and financial services clients manage their global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations, through outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation and technology. Our Corporate Tax Compliance business is made up of a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Corporate Tax Compliance specialists working with our cutting-edge technology platform and our advisory teams to provide a first-class service to our diverse client base which includes global and large domestic compliance clients with complex and interesting tax profiles. We are growing quickly, so it’s an exciting time to join the team.

 

We are now looking for talented Assistant Managers. The successful candidate will have UK Corporate Tax Compliance experience, be able to build strong relationships and provide excellent client service. This is a great opportunity to gain experience where you can learn and develop as part of a strong and supportive team.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a portfolio of clients and take responsibility for ensuring the tax computations are prepared to a high standard, on a timely basis and finalised and submitted to HMRC within agreed deadlines.
  • Act as one of the main points of contact on your portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters, working with Managers and Senior Managers.
  • Oversee the work of junior colleagues, providing coaching and technical guidance as part of the overall review process.
  • Ensuring that clients are kept up to date on developments within Corporate Tax that may be relevant for their businesses.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, working with Managers to prepare technical analysis and involve specialists as appropriate to prepare or review analysis.
  • Respond to client requests for ad hoc technical advice and working with KPMG specialist teams to deliver an excellent and co-ordinated service to the client.
  • Build and develop positive constructive relationships within your team and across your client base.
  • Opportunities to support clients with their group reporting needs and assist with tax audit work.
  • Coaching, career management and technical support for junior team members.
  • Follow KPMG best practice and policy.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • UK Corporation Tax experience including reviewing computations and returns and acting as a client liaison through the compliance process.
  • Experience/awareness of specific technical areas including complex capital versus revenue treatment; pension scheme and share scheme adjustments; group relief; basic transfer pricing; tax accounting for single entities and groups; controlled foreign companies and corporate interest restriction.
  • Ability to analyse problems, identify core issues and demonstrate curiosity around new ideas approaches and perspectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Take personal responsibility and accountability for own work.
  • Sustain a high level of drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude that translates across the team.
  • Excellent teamwork and organisational skills, including monitoring timetables and budgets.
  • Display an inclusive, collaborative approach and operates in a respectful manner with colleagues, clients and the wider community.
  • Coach less experienced staff, giving clear directions and constructive feedback.
  • Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent.
