Audit: Audit Centre of Excellence
DPP Accounting & Reporting
We drive quality by advising our audit teams on their most difficult technical accounting issues. With a remit that spans every sector, we have a high degree of direct contact with Partners and Directors.
This is an area that brings a rich variety of challenges. Our work encompasses a range of accounting and reporting queries from KPMG audit teams across all markets. There’s a strong focus on the application of financial reporting requirements – IFRS and new UK GAAP – as well as on UK company law. We also undertake reviews of the accounts of our listed clients prior to issuance.
We also develop training and guidance for UK staff on financial reporting matters. For you, this is an opportunity to set the standards others follow. You could find yourself delivering training and creating publications for teams right across KPMG UK.
DPP Audit Support
We advise our audit teams on technical issues, approaches and methodologies. Equally importantly, we’re driving the implementation of a number of exciting technology solutions. With a global change agenda and an upgraded eAudit tool in development, we have numerous exciting projects for you to get stuck into.
For example, you could find yourself helping our pioneering work in data and analytics (D&A) – an area widely seen as the future of audit. Our team is helping to develop solutions, methodologies and processes that support and drive the use of D&A. Expect to work closely with the Global Service Centre in Montvale, USA as well as external suppliers to test and deliver both audit and D&A software/technology solutions.
US Accounting and Reporting Group (USARG)
We provide audit support for engagement teams of SEC-registrants based outside the US, as required by PCAOB auditing standards. We also contribute to registered and exempt offerings of securities within the US.
For you, this is an opportunity to get involved in high-profile work. Our remit includes providing guidance, training and support throughout the EMEA region. We also provide consultancy and support services in everything from US IPOs and security offerings to US GAAP conversions, financial statements and accounting policies.
We’re leading the debate on the future shape of corporate reporting through our Restoring Trust initiative. And we’re raising the bar for audit quality. How? By leveraging our advanced technology and data analytics to interpret ever-greater quantities of information.
KPMG Clara, our new data-enabled platform, has already allowed us to analyse 111 billion lines of data, supporting teams across KPMG’s global network to work in smarter ways and to use data more effectively. But technology is meaningless without the talent to drive it. So we’re investing in our extraordinary people by giving them challenges that will fuel their ambitions, digital tools to further enhance the quality of their work and the scope they need to innovate – to help us redefine how audit is delivered.
