Our Vacation programmes are designed to help people from different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to explore life at KPMG and find out more about the work we do for our colleagues, communities and clients. If you participate, you'll discover what it's like to be part of a professional team as you explore different areas of the business.
It's a great opportunity to develop new skills and enjoy new experiences, in an environment where learning is continuous. As well as kick-starting your career, you'll get to take part in some great community activities and you'll have the opportunity to meet new people too. Above all, it's about gaining experience on real-time, real-life projects. Audit is the largest of KPMG UK's practices, providing independent challenge and delivering quality audits to organisations of all shapes and sizes. Audit requires a deep understanding of the company, their controls, processes and systems as well as their aims and the risks they face. Audit helps to assure stakeholders that published accounts are 'true and fair'.
Working in audit equips you with valuable technical skills, broad commercial understanding and in-depth knowledge of one or more industry sectors and business as a whole.
Our four-week Audit Vacation Programme is your chance to work in a specific audit business area whilst gaining an insight into life at KPMG. The programme is designed to give you a breadth of skills and experience. Audit provides the core foundation knowledge to a successful career in business and can equip you with valuable technical skills, broad commercial understanding and in-depth knowledge of different industry sectors.

Deal Advisory is a fast-moving area of our business. A career in Deal Advisory involves helping our clients to buy, sell, fund, fix and partner with confidence throughout the whole deal cycle, from buying a business to turning their business around in times of difficulty. You could find yourself working on a variety of projects, with our clients from the UK and overseas – no two projects are the same. We apply deep technical knowledge and industry experience to a broad mix of complex transaction and business issues.
Our four-week Deal Advisory vacation programme is your chance to gain experience on real time, KPMG projects. It’s your opportunity to learn new skills, enhance your CV, contribute to high profile assignments and build your personal and professional network, all whilst getting your foot in the door of one of the world’s leading professional services firms. Plus, if you’re successful on the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to be considered for our Deal Advisory Graduate programme in the same office location starting in 2023.
Deal Advisory is a fast-paced environment and you’ll face plenty of new challenges, whilst being supported by a buddy and a manager to make you feel at home from day one. You will need to demonstrate a strong analytical mind-set, good commercial awareness and the ability to thrive under pressure. As the vacation programme isn't that long, your focus will be to ensure you make every second count.

Or even, Private and Family Office matters for our high net worth clients. Underpinning all our work is our innovative use of technology. Our legal trainees have access to advanced digital solutions and we actively encourage a strong technology focus.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) is a fast-paced area of our Deal Advisory business. Our M&A team is focused on adding value to our clients by providing a full range of financial advisory services across several industries and sectors.
On our four-week M&A vacation programme, you can expect real variety. We’re involved in the whole deal cycle, so it isn’t just about simply handling transactions. You’ll be undertaking client-facing work, providing advice and adding value at every stage – including on some very high profile deals. It could be that you’re part of a team advising a company on a merger, how to turn a struggling business around, or how to see a new acquisition through successfully.

Strategy & Value Creation is a dynamic and fast-growing team, where you will work through complex and challenging issues facing clients today. You’ll have the opportunity to work with people at all levels including senior management, learning about how we offer strategic advice on business and operating models to our corporate, public sector and private equity clients. We offer advice in both an organic growth and transaction-related setting.
Our Strategy & Value Creation Vacation Programme is designed to give you broad and varied exposure from both a sector and proposition perspective, and arm you with skills to help accelerate your career. You will build your commercial understanding and business acumen.

Our tax teams work with a wide range of organisations and individuals, providing quality, independent advice to help them implement tax strategies that best suit their needs, within domestic and international legal and regulatory requirements.
Our four-week Tax Vacation programme gives you the chance to gain practical experience working within a leading professional services firm. You’ll find out more about our tax teams and the scale and breadth of the work we do, develop your business knowledge and build technical skills. It's an opportunity to make new contacts, enhance your CV and discover what it’s like to be part of our supportive and vibrant community.
You’ll gain insights into how we help our clients manage tax issues, such as digitally transforming business models and reacting to significant changes to taxation policy. Across the spectrum of company and personal tax issues, you could learn about international tax, transfer pricing, VAT and deal advisory tax. You could explore the intricacies of managing tax issues for a global workforce or develop your knowledge of how to advise high net worth individuals and entrepreneurial families on managing their tax affairs.

As a vacation student at KPMG, you'll learn the skills to analyse, advise and deliver digital solutions for some of our clients’ most pressing business issues.
