Why a Work Experience programme at KPMG?
Our student work experience programmes have been designed to help you learn, develop and discover more about what it’s like to work at KPMG.
Our programmes are a perfect opportunity for year 13/S5-S6 students to gain professional work experience, get an insight into our diverse teams and explore the variety of career opportunities we offer. We’ll inspire you to grow through your experience with us, helping you to develop new skills, build your confidence, make new friends and broaden your professional network.
You’ll get a first-hand view into the projects we work on, the businesses we work with and the work we do that makes a positive difference for our clients, people and the communities we serve.

Programme Overview
Audit is the largest of our UK practices. Put simply, audit is about examining organisations and ensuring their published accounts provide a ‘true and fair’ view of their financial position and results. The work we do makes a meaningful difference to businesses and communities. It is critical to the everyday working of society, helps build trust in the economy and supports companies as they grow.
This programme is aimed primarily at students of Black heritage seeking an insight into a career in Audit. By Black heritage, we mean students who might identify as Black, African, Caribbean, Black British or Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups: White and Black Caribbean, White and Black African. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about our business and develop your professional skills.
During your Insight experience, you’ll have the chance to meet inspirational people from our diverse Audit teams and explore our variety of career opportunities available. Over three days you'll network with our colleagues, learn more about what we do and the meaningful difference we make to businesses and the communities we serve.
The programme is available for students finishing Year 13/S5-S6 in 2023 or have already finished Year 13/S5-S6 and are looking to start an apprenticeship career in autumn 2023. Whilst on the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to take an assessment, and if successful, you could secure a position on one of our Autumn 2023 Audit Apprenticeship programme.

KPMG’s Business Services (KBS) function is the single provider of internal business services, advice and expertise to KPMG.

Tax impacts our lives and society in more ways than you’d ever imagine. Our Tax experts are doing more than just advising individuals and businesses, they’re making a meaningful difference to society, by helping to solve some of the biggest challenges facing our country.
The scale and breadth of tax implications is so wide-reaching, and at the same time, new regulations mean that this landscape is becoming increasingly complex.

Technology is at the heart of what we do and part of the very DNA of our business. Our tech teams have the access, capability and connectivity to make possibilities happen, blending tech and business expertise to solve complex problems that help our clients and communities to thrive.

By Black heritage, we mean students who might identify as Black, African, Caribbean, Black British or Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups: White and Black Caribbean, White and Black African. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about our business and develop your professional skills.
During your Insight experience, you’ll have the chance to meet inspirational people from our diverse Technology & Engineering teams and explore our variety of career opportunities available. Over three days you'll network with our colleagues, learn more about what we do and the meaningful difference we make to businesses and the communities we serve.
The programme is available for students finishing Year 13/S5-S6 in 2023 or have already finished Year 13/S5-S6 and are looking to start an apprenticeship career in autumn 2023. Whilst on the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to take an assessment, and if successful, you could secure a position on one of our Autumn 2023 Technology & Engineering Apprentice Programmes.
Our Discovery Work Experience programme has been designed with students like you in mind – aspiring, curious and enthusiastic. As well as giving you the chance to gain an invaluable overview of the professional services sector, this programme will give you an excellent insight into the work we do, our culture and people – and provide you with some interactive learning opportunities to enhance your employability skills.
The programme is available for students finishing Year 13 in 2024 or have already finished Year 13 and are looking to start an apprenticeship in autumn 2024, this is the perfect chance to discover if KPMG is the place for you. You’ll get to interact face to face with other students, participate in workshops to develop some of the key skills you’ll need to thrive, whilst meeting colleagues from across the firm along the way.
Upon completion of your Discovery experience you will also be given the chance to get ahead through the recruitment process for one of our Apprenticeship Programmes (subject to meeting the requirements, details of our current available programmes and criteria can be found here.)
This paid in-person programme will run across three days and you will be invited to join us in one of our KPMG offices for the duration. You will have the opportunity to meet with our current KPMG apprentices, graduates and senior leaders; who will share their experiences as well as giving you the opportunity to develop your understanding of a career in business.
