Help Audit teams deliver high-quality work by coordinating the right people across a fixed and complex portfolio of engagements. In this permanent Associate role, based in Leeds, Birmingham or Glasgow, you will support forward planning, talent allocation, booking accuracy and the resolution of resourcing gaps across the relevant performance group. Your work will contribute to audit quality, operational performance and a fair people experience by helping engagements secure suitable resources and by supporting quality management controls. The UK Company Secretarial and Global Entity Management (GEM) business sits within KPMG Law. Its ambition is to be a market-leading, technology-enabled governance and entity management business, supporting UK and multinational organisations with governance advisory services and globally co-ordinated entity management.

The business has a significant growth opportunity. Clients are seeking stronger subsidiary governance, better control of legal entity data, greater consistency across jurisdictions and alternatives to fragmented in-house and local-provider models. KPMG combines qualified governance expertise, a global network, a central GEM Hub and Digital Gateway to address these needs through advisory and managed services.

There are three pillars to the UK Company Secretarial and GEM practice:

• UK Entity Management – compliance and ad hoc support for UK entities, operated as a UK managed service.
• Global Entity Management – multi-jurisdictional compliance and ad hoc support for an international portfolio of entities.
• Governance Advisory Services – providing clients with corporate governance and board support services, including directors’ duties advice and training.

This Director (A Grade) role will take a role in supporting the overall build and growth of the UK Company Secretarial and GEM practice, with explicit accountability for revenue growth targets, market strategy and proposition ownership. Build senior client and internal relationships; lead complex pursuits and convert client needs into scalable, profitable solutions.

The team offer deep treasury expertise in financial products and markets, risk management, systems and technology, governance, valuation and accounting. We work closely with other high impact functions within KPMG such as Audit, Risk Consulting and Management Consulting to provide a wide range of treasury advisory services.

As a Manager, you will liaise directly with your clients responding to a range of technical queries, drawing both on your own expertise and identifying when additional input is required from more senior colleagues. Your role will also include business development activities, contributing to the team’s growth and success. You will lead teams and supervise the work of junior staff. You will also have performance management responsibilities for a small number of employees.

Lead the growth of KPMG’s Indirect Tax work in the Energy and Natural Resources sector, advising major corporate clients on value added tax, customs duty and environmental taxes. Working across the Large Corporates team and the wider Tax & Legal, advisory and legal practices, you will strengthen priority accounts, support international corridors and develop colleagues.
