Who’s it for?

Our First Year Programmes are for students in their first year at university (or if you are on a four year course, you can also apply in your second year). We’re looking for individuals from any degree discipline who are smart, ambitious and as focused on their career as we are.

First Year Insight Programme

It’s the perfect opportunity that will give you a head start on your peers and the chance to shine – it could even lead to an offer on our Vacation Programme next summer.

The programme is packed with practical takeaways which you can use across everything you do. From making the best impact with new networks, in meetings and interviews, to effectively managing tasks and projects, the skills you pick up could stay with you for a lifetime.

You’ll also get an insider’s view into one of the world’s leading business advisory firms, the work we do, the industries we work in and the big issues facing our clients. You’ll find out how we support them, earn their trust and empower change.

Over the two-day Insight Programme, you’ll network with staff from the Audit, Tax and Pensions programmes, from recent Graduates to Partners, so you can find out what life and a career at KPMG is really like.

Most importantly, this is a fantastic opportunity to fast-track yourself through our recruitment process. While on the programme, you’ll take part in an assessment, and if successful, secure your position on our Vacation Programme for the following year. More information about our Vacation Programmes can be found here.

Audit, the largest of our UK practices, develops a deep understanding of organisations and helps to assure that the annual accounts are a ‘true and fair’ reflection of their financial performance. Auditors at KPMG may get the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients, from international corporates to charities and governments.

KPMG’s Tax and Pensions Services practice is an excellent starting point for a successful business career. In Tax, you’ll work closely with a range of clients, developing a deep understanding of their commercial issues, while helping them to implement the tax approaches that best suit their needs. In Pensions, you’ll gain invaluable experience in a fast-paced and demanding sector that is very much a hot topic in public debate.
