The Role


This person will have responsibility for overseeing the delivery of multiple key global tax compliance outsourcing within KPMG’s Compliance & Transformation practice. This will include winning new work by taking a lead role on proposals and actively pursuing discussions with client and targets as well as overseeing the delivery of projects within the team.

A typical project will include working with multiple stakeholders and teams across Tax and Accounting/Finance (at both the client and KPMG).

The role will be based in our Edinburgh office but with travel as required for the delivery of client projects. The individual will lead a local team in Scotland which in turn forms part of KPMG UK’s national team for Global Compliance & Transformation.

Key responsibilities include:

‒ Taking a lead role on the delivery of proposals and other targeting meetings for global outsourcing client opportunities;
‒ Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships with both existing and new clients;
‒ Generating additional work opportunities by identifying areas of value add for clients;
‒ Acting as the Project Lead on the overall delivery of global and UK large corporate outsourcing projects within the team;
‒ Leading a project delivery team, which may include both KPMG team members, and client employees;
‒ Ensuring that new global compliance engagements are transitioned into KPMG effectively, and are delivered on time and in budget;
‒ Advising clients on their tax compliance processes, covering across people, process and technology;
‒ Advising client on how to achieve tax transformation through leveraging outsourcing opportunities; and
‒ Coaching and mentoring junior team members.

You will have some of the following skills, qualifications and experience:

• ACA or CTA qualified (or part qualified) – preferred but not essential
• Experience of managing complex global compliance engagements
• Experience of tax compliance and tax advisory work
• Experience of working on process improvement projects
• A sales focus and a desire to build relationships with new clients.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear.
