Manager - Audit & Accounting Related Tax Services

The Role

• Acting as the day-to-day contact on audit and tax reporting engagements, liaising with audit teams, the client and AARTS team nationally.  Working with the AARTS leadership team to grow the business.
• Reviewing, testing and documenting technical tax disclosures prepared by clients and their independent advisers
• Delegating delivery of work to junior colleagues whilst maintaining control of quality and timetables.
• Developing and maintaining client relationships across a portfolio of clients;
• Developing and maintaining internal relationships with the audit teams, and other departments;
• Mentoring and developing of junior members of staff;
• Keep up to date and share technical insights with rest of AARTS team.

The Person

As Manager in Governance, Risk and Compliance Services, you will lead grants assurance and internal audit work that helps public-sector organisations strengthen governance, manage risk and maintain effective controls. You will manage a varied portfolio, including local authority grant certification, fully outsourced internal audit engagements and relationships with senior client stakeholders. By guiding teams, applying professional judgement and delivering clear, high-quality assurance, you will contribute directly to successful client outcomes and the growth of the practice. This Birmingham-based opportunity offers broad exposure across public services, collaboration with specialists across KPMG and the chance to develop colleagues while shaping efficient, data-enabled ways of working. 

As a member of the GBS team, you will be primarily focussed on working with clients in the public sector i.e. Central Government, Healthcare, Higher Education, Infrastructure, Local Government and Policing. You will be focused on the delivery of market leading GBS solutions to the public sector including GBS Strategy, Target Op Model design, GBS Transition/Implementation and Business Process Outsourcing advisory.

We are looking for an experienced Director to join our Global Mobility Services (GMS) leadership team in the South (Reading or Bristol). GMS is a fundamental part of KPMG’s People Taxes practice and is currently enjoying accelerated growth and numerous exciting opportunities.
