Join KPMG’s Global Compliance & Transformation team as an Assistant Manager in Managed Services, Corporate Accounting, delivering statutory and management accounting and VAT compliance for a varied client portfolio. You will work with organisations ranging from mid-market businesses to large FTSE-listed groups across the public sector, real estate and financial services, helping them meet complex accounting and compliance obligations. You will coordinate engagements, build trusted client relationships and collaborate with colleagues across corporate tax compliance, Accounting Advisory Services and Payroll to provide joined-up support. The role offers scope to apply strong technical accounting and VAT knowledge while contributing to advisory opportunities, proposals and broader client solutions.

Join KPMG's Governance, Risk and Compliance Services practice in Manchester, helping public and private sector clients strengthen governance, manage risk and improve internal controls. As an Assistant Manager, you will manage and deliver internal audit and advisory engagements across a varied UK-wide portfolio, from planning and fieldwork through to reporting and Audit Committee papers. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, colleagues across KPMG Advisory and specialists in areas such as technology and cyber risk to provide clear, practical assurance and advice. This role offers broad client exposure, responsibility for engagement delivery and finances, and opportunities to coach colleagues and contribute to business development within a growing team. 

We are looking for a talented and experienced Manager to join our team, who will be responsible for working closely with colleagues in defined benefit pensions. Specific areas of focus, but not exhaustive, will include

• Journey planning and risk management, aiming for self-sufficiency or buy out, and endgame options including use of surplus

• Funding advice to sponsors and advice on compliance with DB funding code

• Advice on contingent funding options and work on special purpose vehicles

• Pensions due diligence on mergers and acquisitions

• Provision of member education and communication

• Advice on benefit change, benefit design and implementation

• Advice on good governance and compliance
