Job description

About the role

Group Corporate Services provides internal business services, advice and expertise to KPMG. The Accounts Receivable and Inter-Office department sits within the wider Credit Management team in Finance, supporting the business through accurate processing, high-quality administration and excellent customer service.

You will take ownership of accounts receivable and inter-office activities where care, accuracy and timely delivery are essential. The role includes maintaining internal controls, resolving differences, supporting reconciliations and providing clear information to stakeholders. This is a Grade E2, 12-month fixed term contract based in Birmingham, with two days per week in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Prepare and post cash receipts for the LLP and Audit Fees bank accounts, allocating funds accurately and minimising unallocated cash.
  • Control and reconcile US dollar, euro and Swiss franc bank accounts, investigating differences and maintaining accurate allocations.
  • Process cash payments and refunds, returned and foreign cheques, cash adjustments, small write-offs and other ad hoc receipts.
  • Investigate unallocated cash on receipt and resolve or refund items within agreed service levels, working with client accounts payable teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain complete records and audit trails in SAP and the unallocated cash spreadsheet, supported by clear transaction documentation.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external queries, issue the Daily Fees email and keep the Accounts Receivable Assistant Manager informed of progress and issues.
  • Support administrative and control activities, including sub-ledger reconciliation, while meeting delegated deadlines.
  • Review inter-office and settlement country accounts, coordinate with offshore colleagues, support timely payments and provide accurate guidance on payment and collection queries in line with firm policy.

Experience and skills needed

  • Accounts receivable experience, including cash allocation and reconciliation activities.
  • Proven administration experience supporting a busy team and managing competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working with stakeholders and clients at different levels.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, together with working knowledge of SAP.
  • An organised, self-motivated and flexible approach, with the ability to learn across accounts receivable, inter-office and credit management activities.
  • An analytical and proactive approach to investigating issues and solving problems accurately.

Qualifications required

  • Five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
