Assistant Manager - Healthcare Advisory

About the role 

Advisory helps organisations address complex challenges, make informed decisions and deliver sustainable change. Within our Healthcare team, you will support National Health Service organisations and other healthcare and government bodies to improve value, secure approval for major programmes and deliver transformation. 

This is a hands-on delivery role focused on structured problem-solving, analysis and modelling. You will work with healthcare providers, local and national systems, commissioners, regulators and other organisations on assignments such as service redesign, operating model development, demand and capacity analysis, financial modelling, mergers and capital investment. Projects often bring together colleagues with healthcare, technical, data science, finance, business management and technology expertise. 

Roles and responsibilities 

• Deliver high-quality client engagements by building robust analytical and modelling tools and producing clear, evidence-based reports. 

• Manage day-to-day relationships with client workstream leads, maintaining clear communication and dependable delivery. 

• Translate complex analysis into concise presentation content that helps healthcare leaders make informed decisions. 

• Coordinate priorities, deadlines and project activities to maintain a high standard of client service. 

• Support workshops and wider change activity, working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary KPMG teams. 

• Contribute to business development through thought leadership, proposals and pitches, with guidance from team leadership. 

• Bring new ideas to improve insight generation, modelling, scenario planning and productivity, including appropriate uses of generative artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. 

• Maintain engagement administration, compliance and risk management standards while taking ownership of personal development and relevant training. 

Experience and skills needed 

• Evidence of using modelling or analytics to solve problems, such as economic or value-for-money modelling, financial analysis, demand and capacity analysis, or population health analytics. 

• Experience of working in, or delivering work for, the healthcare sector, with an understanding of the context in which healthcare organisations operate. 

• Experience of analysing large datasets and developing clear data visualisations, with appropriate guidance where needed. 

• Experience of advisory, consulting or change-related work, including supporting workshops and collaborating with stakeholders. 

• Evidence of writing high-quality reports and creating presentations that support decisions by senior stakeholders. 

• Strong organisation and communication skills, with evidence of prioritising work, meeting deadlines, contributing to project management and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality client service.
