Manager – CLR AAS
Base Location: London
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our rapidly expanding Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) team to support our US Reporting Services. The team provides specialist accounting and financial reporting advice to clients focusing on US GAAP and US-bound capital markets transactions. You will work across a diverse range of projects, varying in magnitude and complexity, focusing on the application of technical accounting, financial reporting, for example: Conversions from UK GAAP or IFRS to US GAAP, accounting policy alignment reviews, preparation of US GAAP accounting memos, preparation of financial information for SEC filings and US capital markets transactions, preparation of US GAAP or SEC compliant historical or carve-out financial statements, preparation of financial information for SEC filings in connection with merger and acquisition activity (e.g. pro forma financial information), application of purchase price accounting and complex deal-related accounting in connection with an acquisition, implementation of new US GAAP standards, deal-related accounting for group structuring, and delivering US GAAP or SEC training to clients. You will often work as part of cross-functional teams including Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, and Tax. You will also support with business development activities with clients and contribute to the team’s growth and success.

What will you be doing?
- Managing client accounting related engagements, providing accounting and financial reporting support in relation to US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and US capital markets transactions. This will include managing small teams and, in some instances, leading AAS input into larger, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Assessing the impact of new and existing accounting standards advising clients on their application and the impact on the operation of an organisation.
- Supporting transaction teams with US GAAP acquisition accounting and model reviews.
- Providing US GAAP accounting support to transaction and tax teams, answering questions on technical issues and providing input for reports.
- Developing and delivering US GAAP and SEC reporting training to clients and internal KPMG teams.
- Performance managing junior team members, ensuring that you are having rich development conversations that supports their growth and career progression.
- Helping to grow our business through building and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and KPMG individuals.
What will you need to do it?
- Professional qualification from a recognised accountancy body
- Experience of working within an accounting advisory function of a professional services firm/ corporate business sector
- Detailed knowledge and experience of US GAAP
- Knowledge and experience of SEC reporting
- Experience of developing and presenting accounting training courses
- Experience of managing teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff
- Proven track record of managing and delivering high quality, complex projects with stakeholder deliverables
