Job description
About the role
KPMG Advisory helps organisations make informed decisions, manage complex change and deliver strategic transactions by bringing together specialist commercial, financial and sector expertise.
Within Corporate Finance, you will join a Midlands-focused team with strong growth ambitions and a track record of advising mid-market and global organisations, financial investors and entrepreneurs. You will support the origination and execution of lead advisory mandates, helping clients navigate the full mergers and acquisitions process. Reporting to an Associate Director, Director or Partner, you will combine hands-on project leadership with client relationship management, team development and business development.
Roles and responsibilities
Manage mergers and acquisitions engagements from planning through to completion, maintaining momentum, quality and clear communication throughout the transaction.
Act as the day-to-day client contact, coordinating stakeholders and helping clients make informed decisions at each stage of the deal.
Lead the preparation of clear, persuasive marketing materials, pitch documents and client proposals.
Direct and review the work of analysts, junior colleagues and support teams to deliver accurate, high-quality outputs.
Coach junior team members and provide practical feedback that supports their development.
Set and monitor project budgets, billing and reporting requirements, escalating risks and issues appropriately.
Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, building market relationships and supporting pitches for new work.
Apply financial analysis, including leveraged buyout and discounted cash flow modelling, to support transaction advice and deal execution.
Experience and skills needed
Relevant corporate finance experience gained in an investment bank, property consultancy, professional services firm, mid-tier advisory firm or private equity firm.
A demonstrable record of executing transactions across the deal lifecycle, from origination to completion, including sell-side engagements.
Experience managing complex projects, priorities and deadlines across multiple engagements.
Evidence of producing and reviewing high-quality financial analysis and models, including leveraged buyout and discounted cash flow analysis.
Experience developing client relationships and communicating financial and commercial matters clearly in writing and in meetings.
Evidence of leading, reviewing or coaching junior colleagues while working collaboratively with wider deal teams.
