This role serves as the critical link between auditors, data scientists, engineers, and governance stakeholders to ensure the development of scalable, ethical, and high-impact solutions across the audit practice, with a heavy focus on integrating AI into solution design and delivery.

Description of the role:

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the product vision, roadmap, and delivery strategy for solutions that incorporate the latest technology (with a heavy focus on AI and machine learning) within the audit domain.
  • Translate complex audit processes and business needs into clear, prioritised product requirements that leverage the latest technology capabilities.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, architects, and governance leads to deliver compliant, secure, and effective solutions.
  • Ensure ethical and responsible design through alignment with frameworks including Responsible AI, ensuring bias mitigation, transparency, and robust model lifecycle management.
  • Track product success through adoption metrics, value measures, and user feedback, adjusting roadmaps accordingly.
  • Engage with audit stakeholders to prioritise features, validate solutions, and drive user‑centric product design.
  • Lead cross‑functional delivery teams using agile methodologies, ensuring alignment to audit quality, risk, and strategic business outcomes.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and their potential application within the audit profession.
  • Due to the nature of the position, you may be working at/visiting a client site and/or other KPMG offices.

The person:

Experience and knowledge requirements:

  • Proven experience in product management roles, ideally within AI/ML or data science domains, preferably in regulated or professional services environments.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning principles, data governance, product and/or model lifecycle management, and ethical AI standards.
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into practical audit‑focused products and business use cases.
  • Demonstrated leadership delivering solutions from concept to production, including validation, accreditation, and adoption.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Behavioural Attributes and Skills:

  • Strategic Thinking – Develops long-term product vision and aligns delivery to Audit and Firm priorities.
  • Stakeholder Management – Builds trusted relationships and influences senior business, technology, and governance stakeholders.
  • Communication & Influence – Communicates complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer Focus – Champions user needs and drives user-centred product design and adoption.
  • Leadership & Collaboration – Leads and motivates cross-functional teams to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Decision Making – Makes sound, data-driven decisions and effectively balances competing priorities.
  • Innovation Mindset – Identifies opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, particularly AI, to enhance audit quality and efficiency.
  • Problem Solving – Applies critical thinking to solve complex business, operational, and technology challenges.
  • Change Leadership – Drives adoption of new technologies and ways of working across a diverse stakeholder base.
  • Coaching & Continuous Improvement – Supports development of others and promotes a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A professional accountancy qualification from a recognised accountancy body is essential for this role and you must be a paid-up member of the professional body with which you qualified (E).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; certifications in AI/ML or responsible AI are advantageous.
