Why a Managed Services Apprenticeship at KPMG?

KPMG Managed Services Apprenticeship is a two-year programme working with clients who are looking to temporarily outsource parts of their business. The work we do often needs to be mobilised quickly and can vary in size and scope – you could be part of a team of 10 to 650 colleagues working on a project at any one time, whilst based at our office in Leeds.

In Managed Services, we work to deliver a quality service to our clients and provide them with a specialist support function and ultimately ensure their success. The work you will do is important and will add real value to the businesses we work with – whilst providing you with a wide range of experience and learning opportunities. It is both exciting and challenging work.

You could be involved in anything from analysing data, supporting strategic planning, developing new recruitment processes, assessing the impact transformational change to testing the efficiency of our risk management tools. The type of work our apprentices get involved in is varied, and you will spend time in a range of functions during four to six month rotational placements.

Quality is critical to the success of Managed Services. You’ll ideally need excellent written skills, enjoy problem solving and be comfortable working in an environment that is constantly changing. The role is demanding and will require drive, resilience and enthusiasm; so you’ll need to enjoy working under pressure to meet deadlines.

All apprentices will work towards the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship – a recognised qualification that enables the development of core business skills and knowledge; including project management, business regulation and personal development. There is a wide scope of opportunity, where you’ll spend time across our different functions and continue your journey as you then specialise in your area of choice.

Like the companies we work with, we're having to adapt. This means new working patterns, physical adjustments in our offices and new ways of interacting with our colleagues as well as the organisations we work with - we are harnessing technology to help underpin this change.

The onus is on you to take ownership of your studies and help shape your learning. The programme is delivered by BPP, our chosen specialist Tuition provider via a blend of online learning, recorded courses and face to face workshops where appropriate. Alongside your formal tuition programme, you will have access to a BPP coach who is on hand to guide you through each stage of your learning journey, providing you with clear aims and objectives.

The structure of the programme spreads your work and study over the course of 15 months. You’ll study 6 modules ranging from Understanding Business and Organisations to Introduction to Project Management. The programme finishes with an end point assessment once you have completed all of the knowledge, skills and behaviours.

KPMG is dedicated to helping ensure you have the best chance of passing your exams, and therefore have a Professional Qualification Training and Accreditation team who support KPMG apprentices, online portal content and live and recorded additional study sessions - which means there is a form of support for your every need.
