These are really exciting times for KPMG Audit and the wider firm.  This is a new role to work within the newly established SoQM Centre of Excellence during a period of significant change for the SoQM.

Over the past 12 months, the management of the design of SoQM controls and their documentation has been transitioning from the SoQM Technical Team to the business.

The merger with KPMG Switzerland will require resource to lead the assessment and consideration of whether we can better align the approach to the SoQM in both the UK and Switzerland and if so, to oversee the design and implementation these changes.

Clients are based in the public sector and our services deliver added value to clients using modern control assessment, risk management and audit techniques focusing on strategic, management and operational issues as well as financial management and reporting controls. What will you be doing?

•    Creating annual internal audit plans for clients
•    Providing internal audit services on both outsourced and co-sourced contractual basis
•    Managing and directly delivering individual and /or a programme of internal audit projects which includes planning, review, quality assurance and reporting
•    Risk management, governance and internal audit advisory services
•    Risk identification workshops and control reviews
•    Delivering control and risk training
•    Managing and reviewing internal control questionnaires
•    Compliance internal audits
•    Working with members of other KPMG advisory teams
•    Retaining management responsibility for a portfolio of clients, maintaining relationships with senior KPMG and client staff and is responsible for the financial performance and delivery of these accounts
•    Demonstrating a detailed understanding of how current and emerging legal, regulatory, governance, risk management, auditing, accounting and financial reporting standards affect their clients
•    Undertaking KPMG's internal risk management and client engagement management procedures including client acceptance, continuance and engagement procedures
•    Keeping up to date with all industry specific issues and circumstances which affect their clients
•    Developing audit strategies which address all audit, client service and project management issues, in accordance with the KPMG internal audit methodology
•    Recognising where specialists are required and involving other KPMG staff, managing their input to the client
•    Reviewing the audit evidence obtained ensuring it is sufficient in line with IIA Standards and KPMG methodology
•    Conducting meetings with clients to explain internal audit findings and drafting and reviewing reports
•    Reporting to Partners / Directors all salient points arising from assignments
•    Producing quarterly Audit Committee papers
•    Setting budgets for engagement and monitoring delivery against the budget
•    Ensuring work in progress is monitored and controlled with fees being raised promptly
•    Planning and allocating staff resources to fulfil business requirements
•    Setting objectives with the team, and providing support and feeding back on perf

In order to support the growth of our capabilities within the Customer, Operations and Infrastructure Financial Services (CO&I FS) team – aligned to the Wealth & Asset Management sector, we are currently looking to recruit Senior Managers who can make a significant contribution by combining an understanding of the Wealth & Asset Management industry with transformation, reorganisation and optimisation capabilities.

You will be a Senior Manager within our CO&I FS Ops team aligned to WAM Consulting and will be helping both grow our business and ensure our teams deliver high quality advice to clients. You should expect to be involved in a wide range of challenging client engagements across the WAM value chain for clients from across the ecosystem.
