The Role:


· You will build a portfolio of clients and have responsibility for agreeing audit timetables, briefing the audit team (including other specialists), monitoring budgets and supervising the KPMG audit process. This will include planning and reviewing audit fieldwork, statutory reporting and project management.


· Keeping partners up to date with progress throughout the course of the assignment.


· Preparing and reviewing reports to senior management and audit committees.


· Supervising and coaching junior members of staff


· On-site involvement and being the key point of contact for senior level client staff throughout the year


· Keeping up to date with KPMG's product and service offerings, identifying sales opportunities that will help us grow our business.


· Involvement in the department leadership team aiming to continue the growth of our Financial Services department in the Midlands.



Qualifications and Skills:



The FS Audit Manager candidate will meet the following criteria:


· Professionally qualified with a recognised accountancy body, ACA, ACCA or CPA.


· Significant audit experience including practical experience within a Big 4 Accountancy firm or mid tier firm.


· Significant exposure to Financial Services audits is required


· Sound & practical working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP


· You are required to possess well developed leadership, supervisory and coaching skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally.


· Drive and resilience and ability to thrive in a pressured environment


· Strong project management techniques including decision-making ability, analytical skills, time management, organisation and evaluative skills.


IT literacy with sound knowledge and experience of Excel/Word.

The Role:

The KPMG North Regional tax team is a fast-growing part of the KPMG tax practice. We are looking for excellent candidates with a proven track record who are seeking a dynamic and challenging working environment within a strong supportive leadership and management team. The marketplace is diverse with a client base of UK listed, PE backed, inbound and family owned groups.
This current vacancy is for a Manager to join our M&A Team based in the Manchester office. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationship skills with clients, project manage tax advice on transactions and provide excellent service.

Role and Responsibilities:

Working as a member of the client service team to provide M&A Tax Advisory services including:
Providing tax advisory services to a variety of clients and overseeing the successful delivery of commercially viable and technically excellent advice involving tax due diligence, structuring, international and other advisory work
Liaising with specialists in other KPMG departments and overseas KPMG offices to oversee their input into tax advisory projects
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding the client's business in order to identify areas for the provision of tax and other services
Ensuring that clients are kept up to date on developments within the corporate tax world that may affect their businesses
Managing proposals for new work, including delivering tender documents, presenting at client pitches and identifying new solutions / products for client issues
Coaching and developing junior members of staff

Qualifications and Skills:

Strong educational background (preferably 2:1 or higher University degree)
ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with strong corporate tax and accounting knowledge

Experience and Background:

Strong interpersonal skills are required in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
A commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
Ability to multi-task
Enthusiastic with a positive attitude
Ability and willingness to keep up to date technically
Inquisitive with attention to detail
