We work as a national practice providing advice and support in all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a broad range of business sectors including large multi-nationals, household name retailers and public sector organisations. The Indirect Tax practice is a fast-growing and dynamic business, currently with 13 partners and approximately 220 professional staff in the UK.

 

We have a significant growth plan over the next three years and in order to support this we are looking to recruit motivated individuals who are seeking a real challenge, to build on our successes to date and help us achieve our growth targets.

 

This Manager role is Financial Services focussed. KPMG has one of the largest Financial Services Indirect Tax departments, advising banking, insurance, investment management, asset backed finance, real estate and private equity clients across a broad range of issues.

 

The Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality of delivery at this specialist level and will be actively involved in managing the performance of junior colleagues within the team.

We are looking for a Global Mobility Services (GMS) Manager to work in our People Taxes team across large Financial Services clients.  

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day global coordination and/or UK service delivery of client engagements (dependent on the client portfolio), supported by a junior engagement team.
  • Manage the UK tax compliance and work closely with the KPMG Centre of Excellence to deliver on all aspects of assignee compliance.
  • Be involved in all aspects of cross border advisory - covering tax, social security, process, policy and efficiencies, and project manage advisory projects carried out for clients. Closely collaborate with subject matter experts within International Social Security, Employment Tax, GMS Technology, Reward, Immigration and the network of KPMG Member Firms to deliver on cross-border and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide UK tax technical analysis and advice to clients.
  • Engage with clients on current global mobility and UK tax developments.
  • Support Engagement Leaders with VIP assignee services, including carrying out arrival/departure briefings for senior assignees.
  • Develop, maintain and lead strong client relationships.
  • Manage engagement finances with junior support.
  • Manage and coach junior staff.

The Role


This is a senior leadership role within KPMG’s Customer division – one of the fastest-growing and strategically vital areas of the group.  This is a newly created role which will focus on winning and developing profitable client work; leading marketing & customer growth teams to exceed client objectives; and building a world-class marketing transformation proposition for KPMG.


KPMG is putting customer-centricity at the heart of their strategy – and a highly effective marketing practice will be an essential component.  The current marketing practice needs strengthening considerably and transforming into a KPMG signature process – therefore this role will balance hands-on delivery with exceptional senior leadership – building the capabilities from the ground up to deliver a world-class marketing proposition whilst simultaneously developing a strong pipeline of customer marketing client opportunities.

This is a newly created role – with responsibilities aligned to the three critical role objectives:

  • Winning & developing profitable client work:
  • Developing a day 1 customer marketing proposition for immediate roll-out – quickly understanding client pain points and tailoring high-impact solutions based on superior insight.
