The Global Collaboration and Knowledge department reports to the Global Head of GC&K and works collaboratively across several teams to deliver an integrated GC&K service. We work closely with functions and member firms to provide collaboration and knowledge programs and products that enable KPMG employees to turn knowledge into insights and value for KPMG and our clients.

Accountabilities
- 20% — Supports the Community Enablement in developing the overarching governance framework, policies, methods, tools and related resources required to establish, maintain and monitor a best-practice Community Enablement program.
- 30% — Working across multiple projects, the Community Strategist leads the development of community strategies in conjunction with business stakeholders including helping to identify community objectives that address business problems and trigger the creation of value. Develops a community roadmap to translate the strategy into action by outlining the key activities, milestones and resources required for effective outcomes.
- 10% — Determines how best to apply methods, tools and related program governance when establishing communities. Plans how to apply community management techniques strategically in ways that encourage and reward behaviour change.
- 15% — Ensures the proper integration of relevant C&K offerings into the community. Develops a content and tools strategy aligned with the community strategy in partnership with community stakeholders and C&K colleagues. Researches and recommends tools and techniques that enable engagement and behaviour change.
- 10% — Use tools and templates to help frame metrics that matter to the community and that support a value-centric narrative of community growth and ROI. Analyses metrics data to understand and assess the performance of the community.
- 10% — Advocates for and builds support for the community internally. Monitors and listens to understand stakeholder and community member needs.
- 5% — Works jointly with the GC&K team members to provide input into forums and Steering Groups to ensure that Community Enablement requirements are considered and met.

The International Office of the General Counsel (IOGC) is a growing and high-performing in-house legal team with personnel based in five countries. The team provides legal advice on a wide variety of key strategic matters and legal, regulatory and reputational issues and risks, and also supports the execution of critical business decisions made by KPMGI.

Role Summary

This role will play an important part of the technology, intellectual property and data licensing practice in IOGC, which plays a pivotal role in providing legal support for – and advising on legal risks, protections and opportunities related to – KPMG’s IP, technology and data strategy, value chain and revenue-growing initiatives.

The role will provide opportunities to advise KPMGI leaders and their teams on the following three key areas:

- product and innovation strategies for KPMG technology solutions;
- procurement and supplier transactions with technology and services providers; and
- alliances and partnering with leading technology providers.The role will focus on mitigating against legal risks while supporting the organization’s growth through use of technology. 1. Legal and Regulatory Advice: Providing advice on legal and regulatory risks and requirements arising from the design, development and licensing of KPMGI technology solutions and the processing of data by such solutions. For each KPMGI-developed or KPMGI-owned technology solution, this work will require understanding the technical aspects of, and business plan for, such solutions (including all features of the technology) and developing an end-to-end understanding of the technology management process and the entire technology development lifecycle. This work will also include advising on issues related to cross-border intellectual property and data rights and technology exports, drafting terms of use and product policies, and supporting the implementation of related processes. This work will involve substantial influencing of, and collaborating regularly with, KPMGI professionals in audit, tax, advisory, risk management, information protection, privacy, technology development, cloud infrastructure, and procurement, as well as other IOGC colleagues.
2. Intellectual Property and Data Rights Analysis: Assessing whether KPMGI has proper intellectual property and data rights to license and/or provide member firms and their clients with use and/or access rights to the KPMGI technology solutions. This work will also include determining whether any specific terms are required through the license chain and ensuring compliance with the legal aspects of KPMGI’s global quality and risk management policies.
3. Procurement: Providing legal support for the procurement of technology integrated with, or which forms the basis of, KPMGI technology solutions. This work will include advising on, drafting, and negotiating various strategic intellectual property and technology agreements, with a focus on complex cross-border licenses and services agreements (including software license agreements, cloud services agreements (i.e., SaaS, PaaS, IaaS),
software/technology development agreements, and software/technology acquisitions).
4. Alliances and Partnering with Technology Providers: Supporting alliance initiatives and partnering with leading technology providers, including exchanges of confidential information and know-how, the development of technology and managed services offerings on or in connection with leading technology providers’ platforms
(which may include the digitization of KPMGI know-how and expertise), and the use of low-code, no-code development platforms offered by such technology.
5. Training and Education: Train and educate KPMGI professionals on legal and regulatory risks related to technology design and development and use of data in technology solutions.

Technical Skills Required

- Advanced technical legal skills in the areas of intellectual property and technology law, with a focus on providing legal and regulatory advice on designing, developing and licensing technology and the processing of data by technology solutions.

This work will also include advising on issues related to cross-border intellectual property and data rights, the use of open source software, whether there is freedom to operate, the benefits of copyright versus patent versus trade secret protection, and market trends related to the foregoing. This work will involve substantial influencing of, and collaborating regularly with, KPMGI professionals in audit, tax, advisory, risk management, information protection, technology development, cloud infrastructure, and procurement.

IP Protection & Monetization Program: Work with KPMGI business teams and technology developers to create an intellectual property protection program that: (i) identifies patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, know-how and other proprietary assets developed by them, (ii) determines the best legal methods to protect such IP assets, and (iii) implements processes for such protection. This work will also require supporting Global audit, tax and advisory functions in their establishment of an “invention committee” and collaborating with KPMGI professionals participating in such committee to determine how each IP asset will be protected and, more generally, creating standards for prioritizing disclosures and patent filing decisions. Over time, we expect that this work will expand to working with global business teams to identify companies that may be infringing on KPMGI IP and to enforce KPMGI’s rights in its IP, as well as understanding the potential for member firms to license and monetize such IP rights (separate and apart from their use in KPMG technology solutions).

Procurement: Provide legal support for the procurement of technology included in, commingled with, or which forms the basis of, KPMG technology solutions. This work will include advising on, drafting and negotiating various strategic intellectual property and technology agreements, with a focus on complex licenses and services agreements (including software license agreements, data rights agreements, cloud services agreements (i.e., SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), software/technology development agreements, and software/technology acquisitions).

The Role:
This is an Assistant Manager position focusing on content. The individual will sit as part of our Marketing Centre of Expertise team and will manage the development and delivery of the content programme for our Mid-Market Horizon programme in conjunction with a team of marketing professionals across our campaign management function.
The Marketing Centre of Expertise (CoE) operates a matrix model of expertise in defined marketing capabilities and organised in clusters aligned to our business units. You will be leading and building a core team of agile practitioners/change makers, striving to enable high performing teams/communities by focusing on outcomes, team culture, ways of working and driving the adoption of lean principles/practices to facilitate the delivery of quality products

The Role




Lead, motivate, mentor and develop a team of agile practitioners/change makers working internally or with our clients


Promote cultural and behavioural change to cultivate innovation, curiosity, continuous learning & team/community empowerment


Bring energy and invention across our engineering capability to modernise our way of working and encourage collaboration across our functional communities


Coach and influence key stakeholders within the engineering capability to adopt lean/agile principles, practices and methodologies


Build strong relationships within Connected Technology and the wider firm to promote the agile transformation capability and its value proposition (internally & externally)


Drive KPMG Technology brand by being known as a key player in the Agile Transformation and Coaching market


The Person




You have a deep understanding and experience in lean/agile principles, practices and methodologies


You are a people person with the ability to ability to inspire, motivate and develop a team


You bring a collaborative approach to working


You have an aptitude for true conscious leadership


You like nothing more than to watch colleagues, teams and communities flourish


You are curious and bring fresh ideas to the team and wider firm


You have a level of technical understanding, you don’t need to be an engineer, but you do need to have an appreciation and empathy for the craft of engineering


You have strong organisational and communication skills
