Role Summary

- Support the build, and execute on, an EMA wide Corporate Affairs plan, which leverages from our Global Corporate Affairs strategy, thereby helping to shape, promote and protect the reputation of KPMG.
- Work with Global and EMA Leadership to build capability, capacity and reach in Corporate Affairs across the region, with particular emphasis on Public Affairs, Communications and our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda.
- Build an early warning system for issues related activity in the EMA region and, with our Global Issues and Media Relations Lead, and provide counsel and support if those issues materialise, particularly in those situations where there are cross-border implications or where member firms do not have the expertise to respond on their own.
- Lead and execute leadership communications for the EMA Chairman and EMA COO.
- Manage a Corporate Affairs network across the EMA region, working closely with Country Senior Partners and Country Heads of Corporate Affairs, Communications, ESG and Public Affairs.
- Work with the Clients and Markets team to drive impactful go-to-market campaigns, including 360-degree regional launch activity for flagship Global Communication programs.
- Help elevate regional success stories to global attention, bringing our Global Strategy to life through powerful and creative storytelling.
- Measure the impact of Corporate Affairs in the EMA region, benchmarking performance against Global KPIs.

Corporate Communications Manager - Scotland

This is an important position within the KPMG Corporate Communications team.
He or she will be the cross-discipline communications lead for Scotland, responsible for all public relations and internal communications activity, in line with the Chair’s priorities. Regular travel between the offices in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and London will be an integral part of the role in the future.
Once in role, the postholder will also be allocated other national industry beats to lead on. This will involve setting a proactive media relations strategy for each area as well as managing media interest in the high-profile work that we undertake for our clients. You will be a confident advisor and proactively engage with senior journalists across the national press, as well as senior stakeholders in the various sub-sectors to communicate our role. It will also involve interacting with our own Public Affairs team.

The successful candidate will have solid experience of media relations; internal and change communication and driving employee engagement and brand advocacy. They will combine the ability to give sound strategic communication advice to internal clients with the knowledge and enthusiasm for delivering the tactics.
The successful candidate will:
• Communicate confidently with a range of senior stakeholders within the firm, client PR teams and c-suite contacts, to senior journalists in the press. Work closely with our external affairs team to achieve a positive outcome.
• Demonstrate sound news judgment and media handling, excellent contacts and the ability to take the initiative on a wide variety of issues and topics.
• Lead the internal and external communications strategy for Scotland, working closely with the Regional Chair and the office senior partners in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen to communicate their business strategy and engage staff, as well as the sales and marketing team to drive sales across the region.
• Handle all media activity for Scotland, supporting KPMG's functions, markets and priority sectors across the region as required.

Role and Responsibilities

This is a pivotal role in the Firm’s Audit Risk Management team, supporting a team of senior managers and the Head of Audit Risk Operations in driving a step change in the efficiency and effectiveness of the core operational activities, whilst also supporting engagement teams with risk consultation queries across a range of topics and issues.
The role will support the wider Audit Risk Management team in consultations and queries from engagement teams and a wide range of project initiatives whilst certain responsibilities will be specific to each of the three areas noted above.

As the Firm moves towards operational separation and the FRC establishes their continuous supervision processes, we need a Senior Manager that can work with a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure communications are accurate and timely.

Consultations & queries

You will be part of the Audit Risk Management team, managing risk consultations and approvals for audit engagement team in line with the Firm’s policies and procedures. The role includes leading the Audit Risk Management input into contracting in the Audit Capability Group.

Regulatory affairs

— Manage requests from the regulator and co-ordinate responses internally.
— Oversee the register of regulatory commitments and hold action owners to account across the business, whilst maintaining a robust stakeholder management process.

The Team




Our Corporate Treasury Services team is focused on serving the world's leading Corporate Treasuries with their most complex business challenges, and is currently experiencing an exceptional rate of growth. The team offer deep treasury expertise in financial products and markets, risk management, systems, governance, valuation and accounting, and work closely with other high impact functions within KPMG such as Audit, Risk Consulting and Management Consulting to provide a wide range of treasury advisory and audit services, including:




- Undertaking reviews and implementations of Treasury strategies, policies, target operating models, cash management processes, and technology and systems



- Risk management assessments including foreign exchange, interest rate, credit and commodities



- Providing specialist support to external audit teams, including derivative valuations, hedge accounting, and financial instrument classifications



- Internal audits on treasury functions ranging from FTSE100 to Housing Associations and Charities, including benchmarking
