We are an experienced, market-leading independent debt advisory team focused on delivering the best financing outcomes for clients – whether its refinancing existing debt, funding a growth strategy, raising capital to support M&A, or dealing with financial stress. The team is currently advising a range of listed and private companies on their financing strategies, high profile debt finance transactions and managing their financing stakeholders.

In particular, the team has a long track record of advising companies undergoing significant strategic or structural change and/or managing through periods of financial stress which may be impacting their financing position.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Debt Advisory team is seeking an Associate Director based in London to support its growing national business.This role will primarily be focused on advising companies undergoing strategic or structural change, or experiencing periods of stress, resulting in pressure on their financing arrangements and/or liquidity. You will be expected to work across a broad range of debt products and markets often involving complex, multi-stakeholder situations and operating in parallel with other corporate transactions or restructuring activity.

The successful candidate will be expected to build and take ownership of client relationships through business and client development responsibilities and to lead engagements on a day to day basis. You will manage engagement teams (upwards, downwards and with colleagues from other specialist disciplines) and will also be responsible for internal people development.

The Role

Summary of Role Purpose:
In response to the increasing demand for advice surrounding the major structural changes in the UK rail industry including through Network Rail’s Putting Passengers First programme and implementation of the recommendations of the Williams Review, we are seeking high calibre individuals with experience in the rail and/or wider infrastructure sector to support our expansion plans.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting the delivery of rail engagements (e.g. advice on major national or regional rail investment projects; advice on commercial arrangements between rail industry participants; rail franchise/concession bids).
- The development of associated financial models, commercial analysis, reports, business cases and other client deliverables.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients.
- Supporting the development of proposals for new business and other business development initiatives.
- Developing market intelligence and sector knowledge.
- Supporting effective project planning, delivery and closure.

Experience
Experience working for or with a transport / infrastructure advisory consultancy, transport / infrastructure operator, or in project development/delivery within government.

The ideal candidate would:

- Have a good understanding of the governance and funding environment within which transport and infrastructure is delivered in the UK.
- Have a keen interest in the UK transport market, which might include major transport enhancement projects, rail franchise bids and city region infrastructure investments.

- Have a strong understanding of the governance and funding environment within which transport and infrastructure is delivered in the UK
- Excellent understanding of the infrastructure project lifecycle with a focus on business case development, delivery strategy and tender/ transaction support.
- Strong consultancy skills including client liaison and management, project management, ability to adapt to changing environments
